De Monterrey Nuevo León México, tenía yo el álbum de 12 composiciones de Tárrega en partitura, ya leía y al principio creí que no podría aprender el trémolo, era el mes de julio del año de 1973 cuando la comencé a estudiar, en ese tiempo falleció mi amigo Pedro Garza López en un grave accidente de trabajo, su familia y la mía convivíamos, tardé tres meses en terminarla, siempre que la escucho tan bien ejecutada como lo hace en esta vez mi muy admirado, el gran Pepe Romero, viajo mentalmente a escenarios llenos de tristeza del funeral de mi amigo. Saludos amistosos y sinceros a quienes gustan oír y disfrutar de Recuerdos De La Alhambra.
Melodía sublime y maravillosa, una composición que trasciende el alma y el espíritu cuyas notas son realmente divinas, privilegios que nos da la vida de poder escuchar y disfrutar, esta magnífica y grandiosa composición musical. Muchas gracias
Ayer estuve en un concierto del Sr. Pepe Romero de una gira que está haciendo en USA celebrando sus 80 años de vida, esta melodia no la interpretó pero si muchas otras muy hermosas. Dios le multiplique su talentosa carrera artistica. El auditorium estaba lleno, entradas agotadas. Me dió mucho gusto que habian jovencitos también y estaban muy atentos a la música.❤❤🎼🎼🎵🎵
Un tema eterno del maestro Tárrega, y una ejecución del Sr. Romero tan maravillosa como el mismo tema. Secillamente preciosa. Sin menos preciar a Narciso Yepes.
No olvidar que la melodía de Tárrega interpretada por el gran Narciso Yepes la hacia con una guitarra de diez cuerdas creada por el. Lo cual le da un sonido y una armonía mas completa.
Pepe Romero came to my city in 2010 for a concert and my parents took me to watch him. I liked it but I was a little kid and I didn't care much. Now as a fully grown man, I would love to watch him again while he's still alive and well. This guy a is truly a magician

I saw Andre Segovia once at the Art Centre in Ottawa! He was in his 80's i believe and still practiced 8 hrs a day...he walked on stage slowly sat down on a bench and is it just flowed and flowed it was surreal!
I saw him at the Meyerson Symphony Hall in Dallas back in 1989. He's hands down the most gifted musician I've ever seen. He sounds like 5 people are playing but it's all him.
Without a doubt one of my favorite pieces of music of all time, probably in my top 5. I have listened to many play it, and Pepe Romero may be my favorite. So much feeling, plus the impeccable tremolo. Just wow. I have visted the Alhambra. The piece perfectly captures the serenity of the place.

With guitar it’s important to be there live in front of the player. I used to go to these guitar concerts in San Francisco. Pepe Romero would play in SF yearly.

Each of us, as listeners, approaches the music we hear from a different perspective and that's why we have to keep listening to all the greats ... and just ENJOY THE MUSIC AND THE MUSICIANS without personal judgments.
Pepe Romero..... there is no substitute. He doesn't play his guitar he caresses and lovingly draws beautiful sweet sounds from the heavens. When music pulls at your heart strings to the point when you are in an almost trance like state and verging on tears then you know you've witnessed genius!

That guy in the audience with the binoculars reminded me of the story that Julian Bream once told about how he went to see Segovia in concert after the war with his opera glasses to try and get some hints on Segovia picking technique.
