This scripture is the unadulterated word of God. Yet there is a deeper meaning in this scripture. What does a single woman do? Surely God wouldn’t have single women be ignorant or leave them desolate because they don’t have husbands. We don’t serve that kind of God-I know this for myself. Let us remember that women were last to leave the cross (Matthew 27:55-61) and first at the tomb after the resurrection (Matthew 28:1) while the disciples were hiding, doubting and fearful (Luke 24, John 20:19). Let us also remember there are great women of God out here raising families and holding it down by themselves because the designated “head” voluntarily or involuntarily checked out. So, does she marry the first Christian man that comes along so she can get the spiritual teaching she needs? Is God going to withhold His goodness from the faithful and steadfast women of God who fearlessly keep His commandments? Paul said it best, “God forbid.”
