This is probably the most underrated channel I've come across, the content is of the highest quality and made purely for the sake of spreading knowledge. Beautiful.
He said that the earthquake took everything, but not his grit. More than the knowledge, watching videos from this channel made me admire the Japanese craftsmen -- they are a strong people and I hope I can be as resilient as they are.
Japanese people still spend the money to buy these beautiful things, otherwise the craft will be lost. Looking at the metal worker and thinking that all the Tinkers are now gone and their craft lost. Ironic that the thing that replaced them, plastic, is now going to be got rid of. Who can make a quart can nowadays?
"I always do my best work. My customers know that, and that makes me proud." That is a difference between passionate craftsmanship and mass production. The quality ofcourse is undisputed.
Gorgeous craftsmanship! The finished product is an excellent piece of art, I love it...I love the balance!...There is certain pleasure of being able to enjoy the balance between functionality and art. The Japanese craftsmen are the best!
Just recently I found out that a lot of the artisans featured in the videos have their work sold through the sponsor of the series, Aoyama Square. The shop is located in Asakusa, Tokyo. I'm definitely going to go there when I go back.
I have been fascinated by Japanese culture for years. Do not know how I found this channel but have been watching it for days. At last a friendly logrhythm. I wish I had the opportunity to tread the same path as these craftsmen.
🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
i would so love to learn from the master metal smith wish i had the sort of cash to move over there and learn such crafts. it makes me sad that one day these skills of true craftsmen and craft women might be lost one day.
Caray por más que veo no me canso de verlos, es como si fuera la primera vez, es un verdadero placer su arte, saludos desde Altamira Tamaulipas México 👍😃🇲🇽
If only we could have simpler lives like these awesome workers.. there could be more room for the love of our jobs in it. This video leaves an awesome, genuine taste. Thanks for sharing these imagines! G
Modern society pushes made-up values on us. "You HAVE to be successful, you HAVE to be rich, you HAVE to climb career ladder". Otherwise you'll be considered as failure. But the only thing that you really have to do is to be happy, whatever you do, wherever you stand. Blessed are people who are content in their place)
I am so blessed to find this channel! Awesome ! Love the soft music that accompanies the perfect work of craftsmanship ! Most of them have aged gracefully with their art... yet their dedication to their work is young as ever .. amazing way to teach the world 😊
Soy maestro mueblista que belleza de trabajo no como las basuras de hoy que según se llaman muebles que a los meses ya no sirven para nada . Valoremos a estos artistas y un placer ver qué aún quedamos maestros 🙂
I was absolutely amazed at the piston-fit of those drawers. But how does that work in actuality? I can marvel at the precision, but if i owned a set of drawers i could never close, i'd return it the next day! :)
The compression fit of drawer has always amazed me, so satisfying. Thank you for this video.

Indeed🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
share them with everyone they're so addicting
For me too
Production quality is very Japanese. If you’ve seen NHK World channel it is very similar. Sort of relaxing.
I am so glad to see that these Art forms are not lost to the future. Your Artisans keep this Art alive for all to enjoy.

You see how the other drawers move? That's cuz the air in the drawer body has nowhere else to flow to. That's how perfectly they fit.

仙台箪笥、私の父が惚れ、現在私(J K)の部屋に、服と本用に堂々と佇んでいます。
フローリングの西洋の部屋にさえ、すっと、馴染む美しさに私の心は落ち着きます。
I wish I could become his apprentice to learn all about this magic art...
What a nice job, so fulfilling.

If you have the passion you can do it. World famous knife maker Murray Carter moved from Canada to Japan to learn his craft.
I love these videos. This channel deserves sooooo much more views and subs
it saddens me that there aren't more books and videos on this. Knowledge is precious. Knowledge lost is such a shame.
Absolutely beautiful

What is unique about Japan that it has managed to preserve such a high level of craftsmanship?
It was born out of a combination of Japanese life and excellent technology that came from abroad during the Nara, Heian, and Muromachi periods.
