LOVE THIS! This content is definitely needed. Thanks for sharing this, V! I had a similar surgery back in May and it was this programing, and Vernon's help that got me back to 100% in the right way! #TrustTheProcess
I appreciate you bro. Been with DJ five years now, I think its time we make a lot more available the conversations we have had and the stories, I think many can take a lot of value from them
y'all are helping me get back in shape to go back to AD. I've always had a runners build but this time I'll actually have some muscle on my body and I'm FEELING better than ever. Thanks for the knowledge Vernon and thanks for the inspo DJ
Keep the positive mindset DJ, you body will follow. Vernon, thank you and DJ both for starting this series.... you guys have helped me to stay mentally motivated to push through many years of martial arts injuries that put me on recovery road as well.... very challenging to get your body to perform physically at the level you think you are mentally when there are shoulder and core injuries involved.
@@vernongriffith4One of the only people teaching common sense concepts. Idk why 99.99% of guys just push and pull and put 0 effort into 80% of their other body.
I feel this DJ !! Emergency Splenectomy after a gnarly sports slam had me in a real bad place after 11 days in the hospital I came out with a zipper scar and zero ability to brace my core. Looks like you are in great hands for getting your core back to firing on demand👍🏼
Yeah, you really realize how much your core is involved with the most simple everyday movements after stomach surgery. My hernia healed quick, but when I ruptured my spleen, I was struggling for a few months.
@vernongriffith4 Thanks. You guys are in my old stomping grounds. I went to Navy - OS A school and Air Intercept Controller school in Damn Neck Va (im now in Colonial Beach Va)
Same thing dude. I was using train heroic when i snapped my pec in half. Half in to my sternum, half went to my shoulder. Been a year since they stitched that thing back up but the weirdest thing was my mind muscle connection. Completely gone. I used to have a great connection but thats not the case anymore. But still been going hard to try and get it back. The one thing i never saw coming was losing that. Good luck
I know what DJ is saying. Tore my bicep in 2020 and the feeling of not being able to have supination was a mind fvck. Now Im dealing with a torn pec.. best of luck on the recovery. Just takes a bit of time and positive mindset.
Any source that you trust ? I’ve been searching Reddit forums with no mentions . I got a dermatologist nearby selling it but they can’t say where they get it from
Vernon do you include any RPR (Reflexive Performance Reset) in any of your program or working with your athletes? Is “activating” and correcting firing order something you focus on?
@@vernongriffith4 I’ve been working at getting in best shape I can before hand. I think I need to start with exercises like you run DJ through. Especially for rehab. I work in a physical tactical environment
@Vernon Griffith II I recently underwent a bad back injury 5 weeks ago. When and how should I get back into my normal workout? I am honestly really nervous to lift my normal heavy workouts again in worries of injuring again, or even worse.
I had back surgery myself some time ago. The advice I got was to let pain be the guide. I took a full six weeks of recovery. The back gets less blood flow than other parts of the body. Within that six weeks, I did lots of walking, which is really good for the back. Going forward post-surgery my approach was to remove high-risk movements, i.e I don't deadlift anymore it's a high-risk movement. Think functional movements and build yourself back up from there. My surgery was L4-L5 discectomy.
@ this is really sound advice and I thank you for your time writing it out. I have also took high-risk movements out of my workouts. I will ramp up my time walking, that’s a good tip!
Base on the surgery don’t do crazy work for a month. Too many go getters rush after abdominal surgery and then need a repeat surgery to fix a dislodge or other. Leading to more scar tissue.
Didnt know I had an expert in the room, maybe you should come share some of that expertise you have, he was obviously cleared before we did anything, we are just starting out basic
@@vernongriffith4 it would be irresponsible, counterproductive and just plain stupid to lift before the body heals from an operation. In the video it seems like DJ hasn’t been cleared and or still has soreness in the area in which he was operated on. I’ve obviously triggered you just by pointing out the obvious and sharing some common sense. Chill man I watch your vids and like what you say most of the time. “Keep the main thing the main thing”

Good information. I had a foot of my colon removed at the end of July. Need to build up my core for when I start chemotherapy again
Start today, if you can that is.

Is there a reason why the program is divided into a body part split training approach instead of something like the tier system ? Thank you
