- At long last, we finally have the Simpsons season 19 on DVD! Thus completing the current seasons 1-20 on DVD with no gaps! Finally, we can look forward with these DVD releases, with the potential for more. This collection of episodes has a couple of hidden gems, including a personal favourite of mine - Funeral for a Fiend - arguably one of my favourite Sideshow Bob episodes. I have all 20 dvds including all the collector edition bubbleheads (6-18). So that Thanos opening I could relate to that feeling haha.

They must have hired animator Bill Plympton to draw the artwork inside. Very cool.
Beautiful artwork, wow! I personally kinda faded away from the show around season 12 or 13, like most people.
Most people didn't do that, only the edgelords, Simpsons is a success to this day

The disks get scratched because of those sleeves I hate how they have done that and its just about cost cutting

It’s actually rare now in the UK too. My friend got me a second hand copy for Christmas, and it was worth a bit.
It's great that we finally have all of the simpsons seasons 1-20! I was surprised you didn't recall "that 90s show" which is an infamous episode for throwing out all continuity. I think this season is pretty weak, but glad to finally have it because there are some good episodes here. Woo hoo!

However C4 did broadcast this Season 19 in November 2011 and ending abruptly with Smoke on the Daughter on New Year’s Day 2012 which was presumably skipped from the pre watershed 6pm slot as C4 showed all 20 episodes between 2011 and 2012 after Sky One premiered it in the autumn of 2007 to the spring of 2008 and this was the second shortest season after the 13 episode season one. due to the writers guild strike with season 19.
The U.K. will release season 20 next year and also it could get a Blu-ray release as well due to the Simpsons being in high definition with the episodes from February 2009 onwards. Despite the proper animated series is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the u.k. since it first aired on the 2nd of September 1990 over on sky one with call of the Simpsons being the first then followed by the 11 out of 13 in the correct order in those weeks to come in the autumn of 1990.
I really hate Amazon's packaging. Is there a reason for using that kind of "hugging"-design of the box? (cardboard envelope rather) Why not use a box-shaped box instead? I feel the cardboard cases would be much safer that way. My boxsets always arrive somewhat beat-up, and it's a real bummer.

As a matter of coincidence, Mona was in the newest episode broadcast here in America on Sunday. Titled "Todd, Todd, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?", it was actually a super solid episode. Heartfelt.

Mona Leaves-A actually refers to the character dying. It starts off as a pretty emotional and sad episode, but then turns into silly spy nonsense.

CONGRATULATIONS. I got a hold of it to in September this year finally. Now i just need the 20th season DVD of The Simpsons. I do hope MORE Simpsons season DVDs will be made too. Atleast having season 21 to 28 released on DVD too. I DONT like the idea of physical media dying out & ONLY releasing movies & tv-shows on streaming-services like Disney+, Netflix & Hulu. Thats why i appreciate how South Park mocked streaming-services on the episode were Scott Malkinsons wanted to see Mandalorian, The Future Covid movies & Streaming Wars movies. 💙🙏

I have no idea honestly. My guess (having only watched some of this season) would be the second episode, with Homer being harassed by a stalker. Other than that, no clue. Might be worth looking up on the BBFC website.

Is it just me or does anyone else find the rating descriptions for season 18 and 19 really odd? I mean, "discriminatory references" was unusual enough, but "sexual harassment" now as well? I don't know, it just weirds me out.

@@Chris-nn3vu Yeah, I noticed with the Family Guy season 17 DVD it was even worse. "Sexual harrassment" is strange, but at least that is something you can point out happens in one episode. However, "outdated racial stereotyping" is not only needlessly inserting your personal opinion, but also kinda suggests that the creators of the show are guilty of racism, which proves the often negated point that many still choose to take the show at face value when they never mean you to. Makes me mad.
im a bit late but i believe the discriminatory language bit is in reference to the bit when martin uses the ""correct"" term for a bundle of sticks

Can’t wait to add this season to my collection!! I had no clue season 18 was so exclusive and Warner available anymore, so I spent $65 US to get it!! The retail price in the US was $40, so I didn’t feel too bad spending 72 CAD plus 11 CAD for shipping (which works out to 65 US), as all of the US versions seemed to be $90 or more. Luckily season 19 is still Available for retail, so when I earn some more money, i will definitely add this season to my collection as well. That way I then will have all 20 seasons released on DVD
I really like the packaging for the Simpsons DVDs and this one makes me tempted to get it but the episodes after about season 11/12 are really hard to watch. I'd probably just collect them for the creative packaging and art.

I just picked up the American Dad Volume 14 dvd and I was quite disappointed. The box art was good, but the main menu itself was lame. No bonus features, extras, just the episodes with a picture of the box art. What are your thoughts?
This seems to be all the more common - just cash grab DVDs which are essentially bear bones of what they could be. Having the episodes is great, but I do feel slightly cheated not to have bonus content available.
I personally think this is the last season of the Simpsons on dvd we’re gonna get because family guy has now falling into the same issue like they stopped at season 17 and they haven’t released season 18 on dvd or season 19

There's even an interesting commentary on one episode. Al Jean recalled FOX releasing Season 20 on Home Video years ago And how it didn't come with any Audio Commentaries I figured out that's because the producers hadn't reached doing commentaries for Season 20, at the time Al ends it by saying, something about us fans getting a re-release of Season 20 with Audio Commentaries soon
9000sharpay don’t bet on it they would probably go on to season 21 and onwards on dvd which I know that’s never gonna happen because the Simpsons have a new ownership who are not even interested into making or selling us DVDs they would rather we watch the show digital since they have a bad history of DVDs

I've thought about that, and I think I'd only buy it to review and then re-sell it. Love the artwork on the current Season 20 set too much to get rid of it, and I doubt a newer style boxset could out-do the art on the current one.
Rereleasing season 20 is dumb, the smart thing to do is to release season 21 next
@@dvdreviewsstudios I really hope they do re release Season 20, for 2 reasons:
A- The UK never got an official DVD release of that season, so the only way to get the original release is importing it from another country.
B- The original Season 20 release is lacking some of the usual special features of other season releases, such as audio commentary on every episode

How do you own season 20? I would’ve imported the Australian Blu Ray, that’s the route I took with season 16.
Season 20 was a US import - but is available elsewhere :)
