Today is the first time I saw this video. Very important for me because my late father was a Borinqueneer. Master Sgt. Rafael Gonzalez Rullan was inducted on Nov./1950 and was in active battle in Korea. He used to tell the tales of the horrors of the war and also about the discrimination these soldiers endure from being puertoricans, and the harsh climate conditions they encountered afar from our tropical island. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge Korea Service Medal, Bronze Star and Purple Heart but never recieved the medals. My father passed away on June/2009 at 83 years and Im his only daughter. Im very proud of him and all the servicemen on the glorious 65th Regiment. They honored our country and shed their blood, sweat and tears. Last week I visited the Korean War Memorial in DC and was overwhelmed because I know my father would be very proud to see that they were al last recognized for their sacrifices.
My beloved Godfather (raised me) was a Bronze medal Korean War veteran. We have the letter from Korea''s president thanking him for the service (Korean & English language )
I am so proud of my fellow Puerto Ricans that fought for the freedom of South korea and also for the brave ones that fought in all our wars since world war 1. God bless America and God bless Puerto Rico.
Salutes the Great Warriors of the 65th. Having known about their service for a long time and as a Puerto Rican, I will always HONOR these soldiers! They are a PRIDE to the Puerto Rican people and i'm glad the Koreans honored them and Thanked them! The Congressional Gold Medal was something that had to happen because my countrymen deserve it and earned it! They not only endured the war with remarkable honor and service, they weren't treated with the Dignity and Respect they deserved and that made them even more INCREDIBLE!
As a testament of being a present day 65th Infantryman of the Puerto Rico National Guard, please visit my site at josephdelizswoboda.wix.com/modernborinqueneer?_ga=1.206731667.1077773556.1431711828 Thank you and my sincerest apologies.
The legacy of the Borinqueneers should never be forgotten. My mother's cousin Sgt Hugo Alvarez gave his life serving in Korea demonstrating incredible bravery. I have recently discovered the incredible history of courage and sacrifice of these fighting puertoricans. I am very proud to call myself a puertorican and to have this proud heritage.
Ok.
They won more medals than any other regiment in that forgotten war.

Congressionl Medal of Honor
+Joseph Deliz Sorry, you're wrong, it's the Congressional Gold Medal. The president even addressed it as much when it was granted to them.
