Coming from a lions fan Zack did his job pretty well and had us sweating at the end of the game. Besides the one bone head play the loss ain't on him.
Yeah he played okay. Not great, not terrible. The o line lost us this game, and everybody else had a hand in it, including the coach on clock management. Aside, now I can root for the lions in their division.

I think he really has potential. We have to remember that he wasn’t playing with the team for 3 weeks! We REALLY needed Quinnen Williams today. We didn’t get ANY sacks. Goff had so much time to throw the ball. Special teams not good.
I can’t believe how bad the OL is could of seriously injured Mike white because of them, can’t help to make space for bam or MC and can’t protect a lick. Needs massive improvement probably the most in our team.

My issue is that his primary target, Corey Davis, is always out. ZW needs to throw to G Wilson every day, at least an hour, to make him his #1. We can’t rely on Davis being on the field.
Great on rollouts. Not the optimal size to play from the pocket. If you're going to draft someone 2nd overall, then you should at least match your offensive scheme to their strengths.
Been saying this all year, zach is 6'2, unless he takes a deep drop, I think he struggles seeing over the top of the line, especially with pressure coming up the middle. In the 2nd half, lions started doing some stunts, and having spy on outside watching rollouts similar to what the Pats did.
Now we see the Jets fans come out and scapegoat Zach for the loss despite the defense choking and rush game was terrible today

They say the Jets actually won, and the NFL is being sued for not "keeping up appearances" in all jurisdictions.
You have to put up more than 17 on the Lions. I have nothing against Zach personally and wish him well, but I don't think he is good enough to start in the NFL.
@@plembonicities6263 if you know what to look for (and I have no doubts that you do not from at home on your couch), you can tell that these Jets/Wilson games are a patchwork of plays brought in from different timelines by the Moon people and the parasite, which is why Wilson looks so inconsistent at times.
Missed some throws he should make but he played OK. Good enough to win. The O line did worse than I initially thought . Zach also seemed to have better footwork on his throws compared to the last game .
Agreed. He made some big throws down the end that put them in the lead and the Defense just killed it with a 51-yard TD pass on 4th an inches.... SMH He did put them in a position to tie the game at the end with that huge throw on 4th and 18. But we can't expect Greg to make every 55= yard kick. it's unreal.

after watching this game it is clear that we need to improve the o line drastically in the offseason and move on from MLF. zach and white are both capable of winning games if they are used properly and have time

Zach’s his best on the move. He’s a twitchy athletic explosive qb. Not a great pocket passer at all tho. Much rather start him over white tho. Whites a statue who can’t move and are o line is kinda shit so he’s gonna get flattened.

I know a lot of people are frustrated with him- but the reality/message I took is that he still has a lot of potential all he needs to do is stop missing the easy throws. He still in his SOPHMORE year. If Mike is fully healthy try and start him on Thursday if not let Zach play his first prime time game!
I agree. His struggles are very real but I think they are also very correctable. The problem is that correcting those flaws takes time, and people are impatient, and as a result irrational.
@@revenant9277 it’s more to it than that. The timeline for “development” got severely pushed forward due to how competitive we look this year. The window for players being cheap is small. You can’t wait on Zach after 2 years and he’s had 8 games to sit due to injury. Have to show some more than he’s shown

Good game from 2. Definitely wished he hit some that he missed but the biggest one is the ref missing the DPI at the of the 1H. We get 7 there it’s a different game. Good job Zach. Let’s get back on Thursday.
Only evaluated so far through the first 18 passes, Overall Accuracy about B+, 2.56 seconds release time, Heavy Pressure (a man in his face in the grasp or sacked) 6 times. That's one out of three. Released ball in 2.1 seconds. Accuracy about about a C+. Tried to run as pocket was breaking nobody open once and sacked - good tackle or big play - held the ball about 2.6 seconds before running. Good pressure twice, got rid of the ball in 2.02 seconds, accuracy about A level. Rolled out 3 times, got rid of the ball average of 3.5 seconds, accuracy close to 100 percent, huge plays. From a good pocket 3 times, released ball average 2.75 seconds, accuracy about a B+ 2 big plays and one should have been caught - 2 hands on the ball. I think I'll put unbiased numbers against Mike White anytime. Mike White is average. How many Super Bowls have been won by average QB's. Give this kid time or we will regret it.

@@justjustin1774 main issue is ZW processes too slowly and then misses throw. i was rooting like hell for him so we can win. this loss is not entirely on him. he wouldnt be in the top 3 reasons. but reality is his INT turned into the 3 points and we lost by 3. if you can give MW ZW's arm, we would be set at QB for the next 10 years or more.

Played a lot better than I thought. Only a few “bad” throws. The rest were catchable. 57 yard bomb was awesome. The hater narratives are a complete joke and disproven by the tape. He makes some awesome throws literally while the pocket is collapsing on him. Often throws to receiver in stride. The Berrios out was mostly on Berrios. Can’t just keep getting depth. That’s not how the route is supposed to be run. These “open” receivers people claim are not “open.” Learn defense.

I know emotions were hot after losing to the Lions but Wilson had a good game, unless there are some passes not included in here. He’s stepping up with heavy pressure and making passes before getting hit. Yeah, 3-4 passes were sailed over or passed too short. There were also 5 missed PI calls by the refs 🙄, 3 collapsed pockets, 1 horrible read causing a interception and 1 miraculous catch off a tipped pass. Wilson can get/play better but needs in-game play time to iron it out.
My biggest take away here is ML needs to play more to Wilson’s strengths or trade him to a team who will. Building up his confidence with his big plays will play dividends in the long run. I think the break was good in fixing, not all but, more of the short passes he was missing previously.

Saw so many people saying Zach was the reason we lost 😂. Zach was the reason we were even in that game. He did miss a lot of short plays but he made up for them with 20-50 passes
Berrios completely left his BFF hanging on that motion play where Zach was sacked by a free runner that he could have done something to get in his way.

Most important point, ZW had a QBR of 90. Meaning he statistically had a game of positive gameplay. Yes he missed passes, however today he made up for it, he made plays when they were needed. A few boneheaded decisions sprinkled in too, awful pick. But this is the game you wanted to see, it shows progress from last year. The ending is disappointing, but it was a legitimate team loss. You hope the jets make the playoffs, the fundamentals however don’t seem to be there yet. Ride the wave with ZW, fire MLF, make an offense better suited for ZW.
And that’s why I don’t trust QBR. He was mostly awful in the second half. Improvement from his rookie season? Sure. But he still makes the same mistakes. The Lions have the 29th ranked pass defense and he managed to complete an abysmal 51 percent of his passes.

@@wayne2746 rewatched the game tape, it’s on Wilson for not completing the “layups,” sure. But MLF doesn’t call games to his strengths. The Jets had a ton of success on the deep ball today, yet they put the training wheels back on for most of the second half after the pick. The only time they moved the ball in the fourth is on the deep ball, Wilson makes some boneheaded plays- for sure. But he also oozes with talent, he mixes superstar esque plays -which few can make - with practice squad worthy plays. He’s a unicorn, an incredibly high ceiling and floor. I don’t know what you do with him, I’m still hopeful they can develop him.

That was absolutely 100% a PI on jeff Smith in the endzone before the end of the 1st half. Okudah was all over him! I thought that was a great pass by Zach Wilson that would have been caught if Okudah didn't stop all of Smith's momentum. Zach played ok but he still looks really bad at times. This was a must win game and the Jets couldn't make it happen. This was the same old jets kind of loss we are used too.....
Give Zach Corey Davis on some of those routes rather than a 4 foot 2 Berrios and Big Q on D, this outcome is different.
He played well. Could of hit some easy passes but.
The O Line grade was a D+. They were terrible.

What I saw were good passes on roll outs and in clean pockets. The bad passes came in the face of pressure which was considerable which is where most QBs struggle. The OL really needs to pick it up and protect better and give the running game a chance.
Jets had no rush that game. Running backs ran for 38 yards. O-Line allowed 10 QB hits, 4 sacks, and 7 TFLs. Lions had a punt return for a TD in the first quarter. Zach outscored the Lions offense that day and if not for a horrible no-call on a PI of Jeff Smith in the end zone, Jets would have won that game. Yah, I’d say Zach with the handcuffs off gives us a better chance than what is going on here. He had 6 completions over 20 yards and 10 over 15 yards. We need to let him play freaking football. Is he a top 15 QB? No, but is he capable of more than what we saw most of last game? Absolutely!!!

He made some mistakes but he also had some really good throws. His legs literally kept him and the Jets in this game, something White can't do very well
I'm going to look at the positive whoever is playing QB. I prefer MFW, but at least we get a good look at Zach these last 4 weeks. It will give me more of an inclination of who Zach is and if he's the right guy moving forward. Rooting for the Jets to win out!
Zach can be salvage........He just need to work on his people skills..... Everything else is only through playing the game will he develop
I thought he did his job today and put the jets in a position to win… that’s all you can ask for. He’s still a young player but I understand everyone is ready to send him to mars.
Zach has to work on his feet and embrace the pressure with the blitz. As soon as he see a blitz he's quicker than ever to throw the ball. If he can set his feet while being blitzed it will do wonders for him.
It’s obvious Zach needs more rpo plays. Very similar to Darnold in that they’re at their best when on the move.
Needs more accuracy in the pocket, but he has tremendous upside if NYJ plays to his strengths
After rewatching this. It's frustrating how inconsistent he is but the ones where the receiver is open he just has got to hit them.
The o line lost us this game and several others this year. They almost killed MW, they can’t make lanes for our RBs, and they don’t give enough time for plays to develop. In the first half Goff had so much time to throw, I rarely see those with our line.
Wilson wasn’t great. He was very bad for stretches of the game but he was also very good at some points. I guarantee if Mike White played the exact game a huge Segment of Jets fans would be screaming “he did everything he could” and “it’s not his fault the kicker missed”
People like to ignore the dangerous passes mile white throws. I don’t mind them with Wilson or White. Let it rip , but be smart in situational times . Difference is Zach gets shit on if he makes a dangerous throw and White doesn’t .
Zach wasn't perfect but he did make a lot of plays. The frustrating "easy" misses are still there and that INT was absolutely terrible but his ability to create and zip passes all over the field is apparent. OL had major issues and at this point I just don't know what it's going to take for the Jets to get a DPI or roughing-the-passer penalty called in their favor.

It's tough you live in the city that you've been living for 25 years but you grew up in a place that has your heart it's going to be a heartbreaker either way for me

@@jerrycurls88 there is no doubt in my mind that the offense has been better with MW, but that seems to be a vibe thing with the Oline and receivers. The pressure that Wilson gets on him compare to MW is night and day. Wilson is the better QB and will be the better QB. Back up QBs bring energy and underdog mentality that you can ride for a few games. We've seen this over and over. Foles is the perfect example of this

The jets do this with every quarterback they've drafted in the past 10 years. Zach clearly wasn't ready to start day one. They did the same thing with Darnold and look how that turned out. Zach has sky high potential but it's no question he has things he has to work on. His footwork is off, and he can't read coverages well. Thats why you just need to sit him until He's ready. I speak for every jet fan when I say we want Zach to be the starter eventually, but it's been clear that he's just not ready to play. It's not uncommon for young quarterbacks to need a couple of years to develop. Look at Jordan Love. He looked awful last year, but after sitting and learning behind Rodgers he looks like a polished player. Only some quarterbacks are built to be day one starters, and most who are not end up becoming screwed for the rest of their career. Zach played well this game despite the outcome, and obviously they had no choice but to play him because of Mike Whites injury, but if I'm the Jets, I'm starting Mike White as soon as he becomes healthy, and going into next season they should keep Zach, and let him develop chemistry with the OC and the offense as the QB2. He'll be ready when He's ready, but right now, he is definitely not ready. If the Jets keep this up, he's just going to be Darnold 2.0. And I believe that if the Jets handled the Darnold situation differently and gave him time to develop behind a veteran QB, then the outcome could have been gradually different. Let's hope the Jets make the smart decision next season because this season is a wash now.
I was disappointed with ZW play, only because I was expecting more. But if a QB does 300+ yards, two touchdowns 1 int every game, that is average/above average stats. But the stat that matters is under the win column. With a time out they would’ve had a chance/time in that last drive. Coach helped us lose, defense on TD on 4th and inches lost us game, special teams two games giving up a punt return lost us game, and #1 reason: our offensive line lost us a second game.

Mike White is immobile and the Jets' o-line is garbage.
Add those two together and you get Mike White missing games due to fractured ribs.
He sure has some weird lapses. One moment he gets a decent drive going, then next he throws an interception. It's like he's only 50% mentally there.

Jets fans need to stop whining and support their #2 overall pick. Stop buying the hype. Career backup Mike White isn't leading you to the trophy.
Seems like he just needs disciplined QB coaching. His bad throws are when his throwing mechanics arent correct....side arming, off balance, foot placement etc.

@@champstar9669 they're putting Mike White in a #2 Wilson jersey. It came through here as this. Much better, but needs some work. The Jets are 7-7, and in-the-hunt for a wildcard slot. They say Wilson is good and he's not the problem.
They need to let Zach be Zach and stop trying to force him into being who they want him to be. Alex Smith was considered a bust initially too, however with grooming and right coaching went on to have a solid career. Zach looks better than Smith did at this time. Zach can make the throws, but will the team allow him too?
Saw about 7 or 8 open receivers he completely missed on. Can’t do that in this league and call yourself a starter for too long.
10:46 is the reason why I'm done with Zach. I don't care what his stats are. Zach had time to survey the whole field and decides to throw a "fuck it" ball to a double covered Berrios instead of Moore for a 1st down and a clock stopper.
Freeze at 10:51. Moore can turn up field and either get the TD or an easier kick for Leg-a-tron. Zach is not a starting QB yet.

@@wrecktangle Regardless if he gave up or not, why does Zach think his best option on that play is a jump ball to the shortest receiver on the team, has had drop issues, and was double covered? I can understand if we had 10 seconds left...but if he completes that to Moore, or hell even Uzamah at the bottom, that's a clock stop at 25 seconds at best and you are well within field goal range

The real question is, why are all the Jets receivers 5' 10" and shorter? What happened to the prototypical 6' 3" guys?
I do remember that Wilson liked to target Corey Davis and had success there, too bad he was out. Oh yeah, just realized Mims was knocked out (pun indented) of the game too... I guess that's what happened to them.
@@wrecktangle yea I can’t answer why we have so many short receivers. I get there’s more to talent then just your size, but it’s something I’ve found myself questioning as well. Adding another big body receiver to the room would be beneficial if one of Mims/Davis is cut.

I watched ever throw to see if my eyes deceived me, and it didn’t. I count 11, that’s right 11 open receivers that ZW missed and 2 sacks in which ZW created by trying to escape clean pockets. He’s not the only reason why the Jets lost, but he’s definitely a contributor
All these people saying ZW needs development because all the potential is there, you have failed to realize the Jets are a superbowl caliber team. Great defense, great WRs, a solid running game even without Breece Hall, and good OL. ZW needs at least 2 more years before he's ready. That's not ideal when you got a win now team around him.

The O line stinks, or let's say it's tattered, and rebuilding it is priority number one in the off season. Joe Douglas's philosophy is to win with the O and D lines, so I expect drafts and free agent signings for the OL in the offseason, just like with Cincinnati last year and the Chiefs the year before that. If they could rebuild it that quickly, and the Jets now have enough cred to sign quality free agents, they should be able to make a major upgrade this offseason.
Also, the idea that Mike White is going to out duel Mahommes, Allen and Burrow come playoff time is absolutely laughable. The Jets are not even a playoff team yet, and they went 1-2 with Mike White, losing to Buffalo and Minnesota, so let's get a hold of our horses here.
I don't know why people defend him so much? Legit. It's not like he's curing cancer. He's just not ready to play QB for a playoff caliber team right now. That doesn't mean he never will be, but if he can't stop throwing off his back foot and doesn't gain a sense of touch I don't know how many opportunities he'll get.

Zach makes throws every game where you wonder if he even bothered to look at the coverage. He has some talent but he’s inconsistent can’t make the easy plays. These jump ball throws are nice highlights but that’s not consistent offense.
I'd like to see the J-E-T-S do well. This kid Wilson is just not very good. He is not pitting the ball in a good position for his receivers to catch, among other issues he seems to have. The defense of the Jets is championship caliber. The rest, not so much.

I counted 6 maybe 7 bad balls thrown but not horrible. He hits receivers in the hands and he's the bad guy when they drop it? Uh no.

Why did Zach audible to a run on the first play? That stupid play pushed them back a yard or two. Can't blame the D for the punt return TD when they stopped the hottest O on 4th and goal, when Zach and O can't get any breathing room and Mann kicks a horrible punt and ST blows coverage. First off, this was a team loss: O, D, SpT, all had back breaking plays that put points on the board for the Lions, coaching staff mismanaged the clock. However, Zach looks as lost as he did before his benching. Not seeing open receivers, throwing behind or over open receivers. Made a couple of nice throws but that's expected from a starting NFL QB. Need to get Mike White back in for the rest of the season and then have an actual QB competition next season. MLF needs to go, play designs awful.

3:47 that was a 57 airyard throw, the furthest he has ever thrown a football in 5 years, it was 5 yards short. He made 1 nice throw for the TD. He missed countless recievers , and was a 1 read QB the majority of the game. He is not a West coast offense QB. He just throws the ball up for grabs. Sign White and draft a QB. Build a wall to protect the QB. The roster is loaded .Wilson is done a back up at best. The Mahomes,Allen and Rodgers comparisons are a joke. I agree start White, if he is healthy, but Zach isn't done. When it comes down to it he got us the lead with four minutes left. The defense blows a coverage, lost us the game. Poor clock management on the last drive lost us the game.
That throw was only short because of the 5 step drop, slow decision making. If the Jets offense ran quicker options he’d do a 3 step drop, get an extra 6-10 feet on the throw. Smith gets separation to score. As is, it’s still a great throw.

@Drew bud, we're you watching the game? He should've had 3 pics. Multiple underthrown balls and air mailed multiple receivers. His wide outs were throwing hands up at him with some of his balls.
