@Zeynep CAN Now it's gotten A LOT better. But like back in 2013-2016 there were a lot of idols (I saw mainly male idols but there were probably female idols too) that'd push skin whitening. I think since kpop has gotten so universal now idols can't really afford to say they prefer white skin over tan skin cause they'd lose a lot of fans.
