    Bravo! Lovely to see it come together. ❤ it!
    For parking brakes, maybe some pistons facing down with maglocks or gear or just blast door. Raise it off ground. Could be handy for access for repairs ships underneath?

    First of all... Realy nice cinematics on the start :) And secondary the hinge based suspension works great even on small grid rover :) Tried it and I love it :)

    Have you considered placing any decoys? Also You could put like a little Crow's nest with a camera on top of your Rover to give you better scouting abilities. Maybe but a small grid on a rotor with a bunch of small grid pistons to give you like a Periscope kind of deal.

      I second the idea of a periscope. With a rover that large, efficient route planning will be very important.

    It's tradition to smash a bottle of champagne on the side of a ship when it leaves dry dock. $5 won't buy much champagne, but it might get you bag of wine. Cheers mate!

    why does this feel like that episode from dragon ball where it almost there for like 10 episodes hahah awesome epic jorney bro..
    Ps. yeah bridges.. as for the the brake... use space to fully brake and only park when fully stoped bc you keep slipping in parking if ur not still..

    Pretty sure with that subgrid wheels script, if you put remote control blocks on each wheel segment, then a single wheel suspension hidden somewhere on the main grid to allow you to toggle parking brake, it should work across all the remote grids as well.

    You should change the steering angle of the middle wheels otherwise you will lose far too much power when steering Because you pull the middle wheels over the ground and still have high traction and therefore you use a lot of energy to turn the vehicle

    I recommend a script called DAS on workshop, it can let you control subgrid wheels propulsion/steering/brake from main grid cockpit, and ackerman steering.
    Note that you have to configure every connector with DAS_IGNORE in CustomData or the script thinks the rover has docked on some station and stops working.
    I once played a nomad world, built a mobile fortress(basically a heavy armor box with a lot of guns), that large enough to have to use subgrid wheels too, spawned a 1000km diameter Pertam to drive it from north pole to south pole and shoot down everything in the way.

    • @G43maiwaifu
      @G43maiwaifu 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      btw, will your rover , uh, "bounce" when you place new block on it? It happens to mine one but I think it might be related to different subgrid suspension design

    remote control on each wheel segment that then is turning on/off parking break with a timer block.

    If you want to protect your graphics card, use large LCD screens for the bridges And you build faster

    The Phoenix awakens! So cool to finally see it moving.
    When you're reworking the bridge and living quarters, you could consider adding a periscope for scouting beyond the horizon. If you put a camera on top of several pistons, it could be a huge benefit for planning your routes or seeing enemies while keeping your rover out of firing range. Shifty Shadow introduced me to the concept. th-cam.com/video/UUtmq4051so/w-d-xo.htmlsi=R9QgeJJ9grip0E_G
    Incorporating a Periscope into a sensor and communication cluster on the top of the bridge (or on top of the turret, if you are planning on firing over the bridge) could be functional, and cosmetic to show the scale to your build. You could have a couple satellite dishes and antennas with the periscope, maybe a few transmitters to extend the range of your drones.

    Just a quick question: Have you tried putting all the wheel suspensions into a group and putting the breaks on from the hot par?

    • @quantumchief
      @quantumchief  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So it turns out the script I use to control the wheels have commands you can run on the hot bar which controls the brakes so I found a solution

    I think although it will be ugly, try a cock pit on a wheel segment and then see if you can use the parking brake from the cock pit on the helm, because you can hotkey the parking brake. Not tested, just an idea.

    • @quantumchief
      @quantumchief  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good idea, that would probably work but i have found a fix, apparently the script im using has an argument i can run to toggle the park brake so all good

  • @kiwiboynp
    @kiwiboynp 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Put a remote on each set of wheels. Group the remotes. Add them to a timer block to engage and disengage park brake. Also, add the program block for the wheel script (I assume you are using Whips Subgrid Wheel Control). When the park brake engages, the program block needs to turn off.
    Emergency brake = parachute. Also, it's good for downhill braking assist.
    If you are using Whips script, you can increase the braking setting to help stop.
