This is the Israeli Merakava with a Modular armor system that could be easily replaced when damaged. Interestingly This is one of the few tanks with an engine located at the front for protection
When the driver turns this steering to the right, it disengages the clutch on the left track, causing it to slow down, while the right track continues to move at a constant speed.
This variance in track speed results in the tank turning to the left.
We will also be looking at the basic step-by-step process of firing this tank using the one-of-a-kind Lahat missile system that can track and destroy enemies fired from this smooth-bore gun.

Have u seen the size of that thing? In reality crew almost never carries people inside, they use space for ammo, sometimes merkavas can be used to carry wounded soldiers
@@Decicamo I believe using it as a battle ambulance was more of a priority than as an ifv. Even the best armored ambulance conversations of other vehicles are still vulnerable to anything beyond small arms fire, but an mbt is going to be the most armored vehicle you have. Also it will allow any front line tank to evacuate wounded without waiting for an ambulance to get into a dangerous area.
Crazy indeed, but you should check out the Namir/Namer (sp?) armored personel carrier. Merkava chassis AFV/APC, every bit as crazy 😊

The infantry capacity comes from a misunderstanding/secondary use of a pallet bay for quickly reloading the main gun. It is of course a space. Most of the time it would be to carry more shells such as plopping in the next pallet of many shells quickly. The crew can drive off and do the loading into the ammunition bays elsewhere (possibly while on the drive back to the front). This reduces the time exposed and quicker reload near the front. This keeps the tank's tempo up resulting in more shots fired at the enemy over a period of time. Carrying people there means not having the ammo pallet.
Maybe you should study Erwin Rommel, originally an infantry man but known as "The Desert Fox" due to his outstanding tank warfare tactics. More specifically how he got himself and his crew chief wounded in a fox hole, which is a rather odd place for a tank commander and crew chief.
Or... how a thin skinned lightly armored personnelle carrier such as the M2 Bradley, with nothing more than a pair of TV Optical Wire guided missles, became accedited with more enemy armor kills than even the famous M1 Abrams, during the Gulf War.
Think of it this way... main battle tanks are nothing but iron coffins without adequate and stealthy reconnaissance, and the biggest fear a tanker has.... is becoming surrounded by infantry.

But, worry not, the US Army, Chinese Army and the Russia too, are all working on the latest AI-powered fully autonomous fighting vehicles, that are not just aerial drones, they have tanks too. So the tank did'nt kill children yet, but soon, really really soon that is just over the horizon. Maybe even tomorrow you'll hear the news telling your how the first "collateral damage" casualties had occured over "faulty equipment".
Theres a reason i absolutely love this vehicle, it has been thought out and designed so incredibly well, everything to the last minute detail.

The crew bay is normally used to carry more ammunition so it keeps the tank longer in the field for prolonged operations. Otherwise the infantry bay is usually used for evacuating causalities.

@@Aitellyit can’t carry 6 people unless it gets rid of the ammo please fix that and also it has 6 forward and reverse gears making the tank move at 66kph forward and back, and although it has a hard kill APS theirs no soft kill aps it just has a LWS (laser warning system) smoke also fires about 4-6m infront of the tank not directly covering it that would be ESS (emergency smoke system)

Gunner and Loader are switched. As you can see in the turret, the ammo in the Turret End is on the right-side looking at the tank as you have it in the video, not accessible for the "loader" sitting low to the TC ;-) So, as in all western Tanks, you have the TC, lower of him the gunner and on the other side the loader with the most space, cause he has to handle the ammo.
And TC's machine gun is 7.62 mm, not .50.

The Merkava tank is the only non-amphibious tank in the world. That means, it cannot pass through water and lakes. For example, the Leopard 2A7 tank can pass through about 4 meters of water.

Question: Have we seen the defense systems (particularly the trophy system) in action during the Israel-Palestine war? I've seen several videos of AL Yassin 105 destroying Mirkava tanks from a far (and close) distance. But I never noticed the defense system responding to the threat.
Active protection system work when the projectile fired from above 500m range, under 250m range active protection system no longer reliable to intercept projectile under 150m it stopped responding completely.

It’s doesn’t work because Yassin comes from a very close distance. It doesn’t have time to work. However, the question still remain for it when it is from a relatively long distance.
Some people think they actually know how trophy it works. No, it dose not need projectile fired from above 500m range it works from any distance and if you saw any Hamas video, they never show the actual hit, but what we see is the explosion of the RPG by trophy system.
Nah it's reactive armor hit however since it's tandem warhead there is penetration if hit from side or back.
One myth people get wrong is that the merkava is made for urban combat which is not the case its make for crew survivability and comfort.
