In this video I look through my entire vintage Dell Mapbacks paperback collection. I assess which ones need a little cleaning, either pencil marks inside or the covers need a careful polishing. A couple need spines re-gluing. It's also an excuse to go through these wonderful books again and see just why they are so collected today.

Another interesting selection. I spotted a couple more pseudonyms. A.A. Fair is Earl Stanley Gardner. Robert Kyle wrote some of the books published as by Brett Halliday. His real name was Robert Terrall. I'm sure there are more.

I couldn't bear to erase all those marks--I love finding used books with little notes, or pictures, or dedications. It's like a glimpse into a briefly intimate part of someone else's life.
I know what you mean but as a collector, I prefer them as close to new as possible.

First! (people still do that?) I love Mapbacks and have a few but I'm out of room and can't collect them. I am trying to finish off the first 1000 Gold Medals.
Cool, I would love the first 1000 Gold Medals, filled with such great titles by authors I'm enjoying today.
A micro fiber towel might do better on the dust and less wear on the book
