On the South wall inside the motive power workshop in Inchicore Railway Works there was a big display with working lights to inform the Engineering Staff how each component worked in relation to the engine and Generator, and Traction motors. Retired Craftsman Irish Rail 🇮🇪🇪🇺
Excellent review Looking forward to mine (A39) arriving. The Silver ones didn’t stay that way long - they were soon blackened by escaping oil. Weathering experts will have a field day! Before they were re-engined by GM they had an incredibly loud thumping sound. Truly iconic Irish locomotives.
Remember the Crossley sound in Cork when I was 12 - 14 and 2 years after at 16 started in the railway . Got the driving in 1981 and drove almost all the A class as some of them were withdrawn due to bomb damage and the last one I drove was 039 now A39r in Downpatrick so I ordered that one.
Superb being of Irish descendant I like the Irish rail system especially the orange and black livery great review gentleman I may justify one ,I’ll use my Irish ancestors excuse to the Mrs 😂cheers Mark
Thank you for the review, the gray model looks almost like an plain (undecorated) model. If it is one could paint and decal his or hers favorite railroad.
It's actually a silver colour, rather than grey Peter. In real life they quickly spewed oil and gunk out of the exhaust ports and down the sides of these locos so they didn't look silver for very long!
@@peters1127 You're welcome Peter. It's a fairly unusual colour and grey wasn't too far off the mark as it goes because CIE's steam and wagon fleet were all painted a medium grey and would have been in service at the same time the A Class was introduced.
Very nice. Looking forward to Alycidon with sound and Gordon Highlander as DC, plus 92010 and 97301. I should also preorder 37423, but I'll do that closer to the delivery date.
According to IRM the container has now arrived and is being unloaded and models being dispatched. The container was delayed at the Suez Canal, I believe. I’m expected my black and tan version in the next week or so.
@@MHFyffe thanks good to hear. They said the container was coming by rail from China rather than by sea. Hopefully in the future they’ll return to airfreight like their early releases. But the locos are a lot heavier than wagons I expect. When delivered this will culminate in the realisation of a dream by four lads in a pub 7 years ago.
@@oceanfroggie it's coming by rail and arriving this Friday as per our recent updates on Facebook and the IRM forum Noel. Airfreight is not very environmentally friendly for a full 40ft container (not to mention the very high costs in this post COVID world and we did not want to raise the RRP on customers) and we must remember our carbon footprint. Many thanks for your interest! :)
I bought one of these in the orange and black CIE livery. They are so smooth and incredibly detailed

I didn't even bother to count this time, but your reviews continue to rock regardless :-) And does your demo layout.
If Cybermen were trains they would be the silver one
Ironman was my first thought but Cybermen is so much better
Beautiful 💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video not for me but look amazing.
Steam locomotives for Ireland next?
Are there two sound options - one for the crossley and one for the gm engines?
Yes, although the Crossley sound project is incomplete, as access to the last surviving engines (in Australia) has been prevented by Covid
@@Ste1952 OK thanks for that
Nice features and runners
Pity about the bent handrail on the front of the grey version
These look fab with many innovative features and ultra fine detailing, but unfortunately not yet arrived with customers. First world problems?
