I like the guitar descending lick at the introduction. Percy Granger wrote the original tune nearly a century ago and called it Lonondary Aire. Later it became a standard tune for Irish Tenors to sing as Danny Boy. It has always been a special tune. It was about a man who was singing to his son who was going off to war and the father was telling his boy that he loved him and would be waiting for him to return back home safely after the war. Vanessa is just extraordinary.
This lady is dynamic in the Lord. It is nice to view the posts from "back then". Sing to the Master. Play that piano! Every time I hear this song, I think of Pastor Crouch. This is a beautiful masterpiece.
O M G; this is sooooo anointed, sure takes me back I played this song so much over and over had my ear phones on praising God, got the LP somewhere still, but wish I had this rendition on cd. WOW, my girl is bad
OMigoodness...thank you for posting this. Vanessa is one of my all time favorites and this is one of my favorite songs. What a beautiful and timely reminder in the message of this song. Thank you:o)
Thank you for posting this I havent heard this in so long and this is one of the ladies that made me want to pick up a mic and sing gospel music! Her voice is a true gift from God and a gift to all that hear it!
Nobody can dig into a song like Vanessa Bell Armstrong. I forgot Dottie Rambo wrote lyrics to "Danny Boy" or "Lonondary Air" I used to play Danny Boy in Jazz clubs back in the early 1960's but the spiritual lyrics of Dottie Rambo set that song apart from all others.
This song was produced and arranged by the late great Andre Crouch! Songs like this proves why his legacy is so great! I could be wrong but I believe it was Bro. Crouch's work , this is a hymn he perfected in moderation at that time
Destined36 sir, this song is from her debut record Produced by THOMAS WHITFIELD!! In fact the only song she sung in this entire set NOT Produced by Thomas Whitfield was "What Shall I Do" which was written by Danibelle Hall!
When the world is crazy from living on feelings, Where do you go for more wisdom and strength? Everyone talking about living with purpose and passion. This is living!!!!
The first time I heard this song was on one of Jamie Foxx's comedy dvds when he sang part of the beginning, but Ms. Bell-Armstrong just tore up the first, middle, and last of this song. Truely one of my favorite singers of all time. Does anyone have the video when she did Peace Be Still in this blue dress. It's a killer.
LORD!!! 5:57 was definitely UNREAL!!! I was sitting here typing like 30 different specific timeframes that were so amazingly anointed by God, but I just called it quits and giv her big ups for being touched by God the whole song though!!! SING GIRL!!
Did u hear what Vanessa Bell Armstrong said "I'll never know why the man ~ {God} love me so, for He look beyound my faults and saw my needs"!!! Thats what I love about the Lord, He's a forgiving God!!!
I own this dvd also!!! Why would anybody put all this talent in a box and leave it??? VBA may have this dress in a frame and/or may not want to see that blue dress anymore, lol!!!
If man or woman don't give Vanessa Bell Armstrong a title her on earth like they have Shirley Ceaser etc., I know if she live right & treat people right she will get her reward when she get to heaven!!!
Vanessa Bell Armstrong quality and/or performance is awesome, some people still are not ready for VBA,but they just don't know they are messing a blessing!!!
BTW. Vanessa was a trendsetter in that metallic dress. J-lo wore a similar one to the MTV Video Music Awards in August '06. See for yourself, go to google and search "JENNIFER LOPEZ MTV AUGUST". It's the pics where she has on the head wrap! GO VANESSA!!!
Thanks CodEisfresh. Sorry I didn't notice that posting chain earlier. Not sure how they got off on such a random tangent. My intention in posting this was for the rest of us to just enjoy watching.
Her vocal technique is so underrated!! Just out of this world🤯❤️
She never fails to deliver the anointing through her awesome voice!
