Hello! Great video . I want such certification to show my knowledge of software in my resume ( probably not for job), so do I need to take user or professional exam? What is the validity of this certification and does both (user and professional ) costs the same?
when I did the professional exam I was very nervous too. one thing that I had never used in AutoCAD and that I learned in the exam was the use of model viewports. by the way, many practical questions pointed to certain model viewports to be performed. when I took the exam, the certificate lasted three years ... does it still continue?

To answer your question, Autodesk states that although certification for a particular version never expires, certification is not considered current unless you have passed the latest recertification examination.

So, I think it is bad to have to pay for the exam every 3 years, after all the knowledge of the new tools implemented in the new versions of autocad is not charged for the exam. I would like to know if there is an instructor certification? Another thing, where did you learn so much about macros and lisps? I will tell you that I have improved my projects by 1000% in autocad, with which I learn in your video lessons.

Hi Prince, yes if you can afford it go to college to get an associates degree. Otherwise, you can find a lower range job, drawing furniture, etc, to get the experience and use that with a portfolio to apply into a better job.

I had a question regarding breaking into the industry with little background. I've used Autodesk before (started drafting in associates degree, now master's in another field), and recently used it to assist a surgeon I work with design a robot arm adapter. Hi Ravi, you don’t need the AutoCAD software to take the exam. They are multiple choice questions. the time duration of the Autocad exam is about 1 hour. I'll recommend you to practice more to get your Autocad certification. it is all about the hours of experience you have using Autocad. Start with the beginner tutorial> th-cam.com/video/beFVoOgqoB8/w-d-xo.html then take these Autocad job test simulations > th-cam.com/video/7PhPdvU3BxM/w-d-xo.html but don't only watch the videos, actually do all of the tests! this will give you the hours of experience that you need.
Hello! Thank you for this video. I recently took a practice exam for the USER certificate. In it they had me on a dwg file they sent me and they gave me pictures of what I wanted to do (connect a line from point A to point B). Then asked a question like "what is the length of the line you drew" Are these types of questions similar to the actual test?
@@prycethebeast no. Don't take a risk of exam cancelation. They'll be monitoring you the whole exam, anything suspicious will cancel your exam with no money return

The Proctor for my exam after I passed kinda made me feel like I have NO business taking the professional until I get 2 years of experience in the field. Hi Nicholas yes definitely the AutoCAD professional exam is harder than the user exam. I'd say if you have some work you did in AutoCAD to show then you don't need to take the professional exam.

It's gonna be hard for you to get a job with your AutoCAD certification only. Again having past work done in AutoCAD that you can put in a portfolio will give you way more chances to get a job as an AutoCAD drafter which is how everyone start with. With time and more experience you become designer, and then specialist in a field such as Architecture, engineering, etc. I was thinking to create a program to help with that experience, let me know if you would be interested.
It depends on each person situation. For example if you don't have any experience at all working before, then yes. If you already have some decent work you did in Autocad, then showing that in a portfolio would be better.

Welcome to the team Yhana! I understand because I was nervous too. There are many restrictions when you take the Autocad exam from home such as no phones, books, or electronics, and just in case I suggest don't even move from your seat. The Autocad exam from home is multiple choice, however, if you go and take the exam in-person to an Autodesk center, there are questions where you have to use Autocad itself to do what they ask for. 2 options for you to decide how you feel more comfortable. By the way in what part of the world are you taking your Autocad exam?

what you can do is start low and then expand. By this I mean if you want to get an Architectural Drafter position, work first on a furniture job where you use Autocad. Then add that experience and projects into your portfolio and you will have more chances. It's okay... I can understand that. ... Yeah, I recently downloaded autocad on my pc, and plan on getting familiar with it, and learning how to use it Lord willing. Once I learn the interface, and how to use the software well....then I was seeking to maybe acquire an online associate's degree in the area of architectural technology.... or something equivalent to that...I was kind of seek , or leaning toward drafting in the area of Architecture, but if I have to use the software to draw up plans for furniture to getthere, then so be it....

@@LazyArquitecto Am currently preparing for the Professional Exam. These quizzes were very helpful. Highlighted a couple commands that I hadn't heard before. Knew that if I typed "p" when making a selection, it did the previous selection set, but didn't know that "L" did the last set of objects created (will be using this one now pretty much everyday). Your video helped a lot to ease my nerves for the exam. Have booked it in for a week from now to do from home.

if you can afford it, a associates degree on computer design and drafting will work. if you can't afford you can still gain the skills by self teaching

There is no financial aid that I know for the Autocad exam, however, another option is to gain professional working experience and use that instead of a certificate. That is way more better than any certificate Balakumar
@@venkateshbalakumar1610 you can show work you did in a portfolio. You can get into a furniture company to draw their products. You can start working as intern, even for free if you want, then put those work drawings in your portfolio. That is better than a certificate

Lazy Arquitecto, So I went to autodesk.com/certification and I got to where you select between the ACU exams and the ACP exams, when I click AutoCAD from ACU, it just takes me to a page that tells me the objectives and exam languages, but no where to schedule. But when I select ACP, it takes me to the schedule an exam page like in the tutorial.

@@osc3682 are you currently an engineering student? You probably will be using Autocad civil 3d. However, if you learn the plain Autocad, when you switch to civil 3d would be much easier.

@dhon morada nice you're choosing that path. You have now 2 options to take The Autocad professional exam, from home or on a certiport center in person. The questions in the in-person are similar to the user exam you already took but more complex. the exam from home doesn't let you use the actual program.

That's correct my friend. Remember that this is a special thing because before exams were only given on an Autodesk center. What country are you taking the Autocad exam?

What advice would you recommend in approaching this, as a new career, or career change. I really appreciate the videos.... If I would like to acquire the User Certification, or an Associate Certification, then the Professional Certification in Auto CAD drafting, and design in time.... What would I need to learn, or know to get started ? what you can do is start low and then expand. By this I mean if you want to get an Architectural Drafter position, work first on a furniture job where you use Autocad. Then add that experience and projects into your portfolio and you will have more chances. It's okay... I can understand that. ... Yeah, I recently downloaded autocad on my pc, and plan on getting familiar with it, and learning how to use it Lord willing. Once I learn the interface, and how to use the software well....then I was seeking to maybe acquire an online associate's degree in the area of architectural technology.... or something equivalent to that...I was kind of seek , or leaning toward drafting in the area of Architecture, but if I have to use the software to draw up plans for furniture to getthere, then so be it....

Thanks for the video. I'm am confused. I have 2 questions. Can I take the AutoCAD Certified Professional Exam online in Canada. And, I was told by an authorized test center that Autodesk no longer offers the ACP exam just the ACU exam; is this true?

@@LazyArquitecto Am currently preparing for the Professional Exam. These quizzes were very helpful. Highlighted a couple commands that I hadn't heard before. Knew that if I typed "p" when making a selection, it did the previous selection set, but didn't know that "L" did the last set of objects created (will be using this one now pretty much everyday).

There is no financial aid that I know for the Autocad exam, however, another option is to gain professional working experience and use that instead of a certificate. That is way more better than any certificate Balakumar

@@venkateshbalakumar1610 you can show work you did in a portfolio. You can get into a furniture company to draw their products. You can start working as intern, even for free if you want, then put those work drawings in your portfolio. That is better than a certificate

Lazy Arquitecto, So I went to autodesk.com/certification and I got to where you select between the ACU exams and the ACP exams, when I click AutoCAD from ACU, it just takes me to a page that tells me the objectives and exam languages, but no where to schedule. But when I select ACP, it takes me to the schedule an exam page like in the tutorial.

@dhon morada nice you're choosing that path. You have now 2 options to take The Autocad professional exam, from home or on a certiport center in person. The questions in the in-person are similar to the user exam you already took but more complex. the exam from home doesn't let you use the actual program.
