Hi Mandy! A lot of tests come back negative when they are false negatives, and with those bands showing up and your symptoms, it sounds a lot like Lyme! I would really recommend getting muscle tested by a naturopath, maybe someone your doctor knows, and see the immediate result. Also if your CD57 was tested you can see there if you have a deep chronic infection like Lyme. Again, if you need anything, please reach out:) keep pressing on!

A year ago, I found myself in Edmond hearing your story. The Faith in Trial message was so real to me. I had just fled our mold-filled home to stay with my parents while my husband prepared our house for sale and got rid of all of our belongings. I was already in year two of chronic illness with little improvement, few answers and yet, I felt so clearly that this place I found myself, this dark, scary place was exactly where God wanted me. This I-never-would-have-asked-for-it craziness was just as much of a calling as any of my days being a children's minister or a teacher. I remember seeing your Mayo vid later that week and felt that passion ever-increasing, a passion for functional medicine and for people to know there's HOPE! Thanks for sharing your journey, Mandy! (PS...I use old Kevita glass bottles to mix up my charcoal to avoid staining cups!)

I also just wanna throw in that I got on birth control 3 months prior to cfs! Not so sure if that is coincidental because I was also living a very stressful go go go lifestyle at the time as well. Like you said, we are all on different journeys I have this belief in my heart that this season is only trying to cleanse my heart and replenish with gods purpose.

I appreciate your videos Mandy! I was watching the hope in the dark sermon (I don't think there are words to describe how good that message is and how much I needed that to hear, I'm so grateful!) and then found out we have the same condition. I'm glad you're getting treatment early in your illness, the better your chances of getting well. But whatever happens, we have an awesome God for whom nothing is impossible. And the promise of ALL things working for good. Wishing you all the best! Love&blessings from Europe ❤

I'm glad you're getting more information and making progress! You should listen to The Cabral Concept podcast! Dr. Cabral is very knowledgeable because he has learned many forms of medicine and had CFS as well (along with other conditions). He also has a book called The Rain Barrel Effect and it talks about how the root cause of diseases/conditions is toxins, whether it's environmental, stress, viruses, bacteria, etc. So detoxification is a big factor. I recommend you read the book too :)

I’m so excited for this video! I’ve believed for a long time that the psoriasis that popped up a few years back was related to my becoming significantly Vitamin D deficient. It started out as the left side of my body being intensely numb/tingly. All kinds of tests later shows the Vitamin D deficiency. Then came psoriasis. I need to find a functional medicine doctor. ASAP. Thanks for your transparency and sharing-you are making a difference!

God won’t ever leave us. Through the valley, He walks with us. And in the time of waiting for healing, He is working all things for good.
For me personally, it is now in this season of intense illness that God is showing me where my idols have been. He is helping me see how I have been distracted from his total and amazing goodness. Praise the Lord for he is so good.
I am thankful for your videos and for the healing God is bringing to your body, heart and mind.

Hi Mandy! You have an amazing story and journey. The part about caffeine, herbal tea, and turmeric inhibiting detoxification enzymes is really interesting. Could you speak more on that? You said this is because you're missing a gene for glutathione metabolism? Combined with MTHFR gene, cyp1a2, cyp1b1, so2a16 mutations? I would like to learn more. These foods are just so abundant in our culture and seen as healthy for the latter two. They might have helped make me sick as well.

No idea what my CFS was triggered by I suspect stress then some sort of virus but who knows. I did have an unhealthy diet before and I was diagnosed with pcos and had been on birth control pills from the age of around 16- 21 or 22 then pcos so that was terrible. Then I started to have lots of anxiety and panic from s stressful life. Had no idea it would all wreck my system and 8 years later I've just found out about brain retraining so I've been doing it and I wish I had known before but I don't think I was ready before now and God knows best . I do my best with food. I have a lot of stuff to heal but one step at a time. I won't afford tests but your right God is great and in control x

For everyone with a MTHFR mutation: Make sure you know if you're an overmethylator of undermethylator before you start supplementing!
With undermethylation folate will make you feel worse. Not many people know about it, neither did my dr. and I got severely ill because of it. She pushed me to take folate for years and I ended up bedridden. Still am, I only found out about undermethylation a few months ago. I thought I was on a high folate diet with lots of greens thinking I was eating healthy, but it was making my health so much worse...
Because of the difference in symptoms between undermethylation and overmethylation you will probably know right away, but testing is recommended.
Hope this helps someone to avoid the mistakes I made.

Google “Lyme specific bands” and look for the graphic that lists the numbers under the imaging tab. If you tested positive for any of those bands, then you have Lyme.

I love how you’re taking control of your health by learning everything you possibly can on the subject. I was pretty proud of myself for all I’ve learned but you put me to shame. Question... does your Sauna use near infrared and far infrared, or just far? Far is great for detoxing but near is best for mitochondria health. Curious to hear what you’re using.

My kids and my Igenex lab test results all looked different. My functional medicine doctor who is brilliant was even confused. She said she could see that something was not right but some of them were not obvious positives. She spoke with someone at Igenex and they ended up deciding that all of our tests are positive. So even the Igenex test results are not always crystal clear. Now my funct. medicine doc is convinced that a lot of people are walking around with lyme and don't know it. All that to say....I'm glad your doctor is talking to someone about your results. So Mandy, how are you opening your detox pathways or lymphatic drainage? That is what I need to figure out for myself.

I thought of something else. Even if it is lyme, that might not be super important to know. My favorite lyme doctor, Dr. Jay Davidson believes it is not about killing the lyme but more about building up the immune system. Working on the drainage system and getting rid of mold (if it's an issue), parasites, and heavy metals. Then the body is supposed to be able to heal itself.

I had absorption issues and severe gastroparesis. I was vomiting every day, and passing undigested food. It was incredibly painful and I lost 20% of my body weight. I now have gained back that weight, PLUS another 20%! I was 99 lbs at my worst. Thankfully, my body was able to survive long enough to get me to the doctor. My cardiologist got me on amitiza, which is a chloride channel activator. A few weeks after starting the medication, I had a clearer head as well as the return of hunger sensation! After I gained the weight, I started experiencing nausea again. I weened off of the amitiza with a plan i made with my prescribing doctor, so I don’t take it anymore. It was essential to helping me recover and I’m forever grateful!

    • @MandyMeehan
      @MandyMeehan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Giulia, I'm sorry that the protocol you did before didn't work. I know it can be such an up and down journey! I hope you are finding the right things to get you back on that healing path.
I know that my illness has caused me to be stuck in the sympathetic (or fight or flight) state, and to heal, it is important to be in a parasympathetic state. A huge part of why I've seen progress with DNRS is because it's getting my brain into that parasympathetic state. It was awesome to see some progress with DNRS, but it wasn't as much as I would have liked to see. Healing is such a holistic thing, and I knew that if I had a better understanding of what was going on at the root of my illness, then I could do more to address it. I am so thankful that I found out that most of my illness is rooted in chemical toxicity, because I've already been able to see some great progress with the new things I've been implementing.
I understand that it can be confusing. I don't want to jump from thing to thing all the time, but I've tried to be prayerful about what would be best for me, and this is what I felt led to pursue! Hope that makes sense. 💕

Your best defense is to arm yourself with knowledge! Learning about science and anatomy helps you be your own best advocate. It’s difficult because you are so young. Knowing how to talk to yourself is important! Be kind to yourself and listen to your body. When you get frustrated but have the energy to do some reading, or just want to watch videos by qualified people who talk about medical issues, just do a dive into that. It’s work but you can lay down while you do it. You will figure your health out. Remember that your health comes before absolutely EVERYTHING else in your life. Always put your physical and mental health first. Anything and everything else comes secondary to that.
