      Thanks! It's not always perfect, and takes some tweaking to get the tracking just right sometimes, but overall it's a pretty nice solution for quick clips :).

    Nice video thank you. Yeah I’ve been using this feature just to speed up my workflow. Things like painting out objects and adding debris or cracks on a wall for eg, then like you did, tracking them back into AE. Also great for clean plates etc for VFX work. Using AI for stuff like this is fantastic, to manually use tools like clone brush etc then find another image to add to scene then tweak lighting/colors etc could take 20 mins to an hour, this can be done in seconds with this feature. Work smart, not hard.

      Yep! Definitely a game changer for things like that. I just did a new video a few days ago using it for scene extension when making 9x16 social cuts from 16x9 footage. Works well there too, though it does need a tad bit more hand holding to get it right. Still, saves hours of time.

    This is a superbly-done tutorial. One minor question: Was there a reason you manually painted feather onto the PS mask at 2:37 rather than just adjusting mask feather with the Properties' Feather slider?

    • @learnmograph
      @learnmograph  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I prefer manually painting the mask because it gives me a little more control over how much of the original image I want in there, whereas the feather control in the properties panel is more of a broad stroke “X” amount of pixels around the entire mask. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! What is the process to add more than one object to a tracked scene?

    • @learnmograph
      @learnmograph  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can try precomposing, and repeating the process. Just be wary that the more objects you add, the more likely it is that the perspective and tracking won't line up perfectly. Thanks for watching!

    I don't understand it, this asset is two-dimensional, yet the movement of the camera is 3-D, it shouldn't really work with a drone shot that is circling around an object, because the frame generated in Photoshop is flat. this could only work with very specific shots that only reveal one side of an object or movement that is 2 dimensional from the camera, not 3d rotations correct?

    • @learnmograph
      @learnmograph  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It can work with 3D shots, but would require more tweaking. I’ve gotten it to work with generating artwork on a wall. It works here because of the distance, and the minimal movement. It wouldn’t be ideal for long shots. For instance if the drone circled all the way around this island, the illusion would be broken. I’ve been using it more so to add in visual elements to quick shots like this one, where even if it’s not absolutely pixel perfect, no one will notice.

    At 6:01 when i change position at the end it doesn't help my object can't fit into place. it turns out it's just in the middle of the picture and how to set the ego where it was at the beginning? I've been trying all day and it doesn't work, can you help?

    Hey, thank you so much for the video. I'm stuck at the final steps. As soon as I click my .psd layer into 3D it reverts back to the original video without the photoshop fix I made. Can't for the life of me figure out why.

    • @DactoarD
      @DactoarD 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      EDIT: found the problem. For some reason as soon as I made my layer 3D it messed with the size of the image and shrunk it way down. I scaled it back up, positioned it and it works great with a mask I drew around it. thanks!

    • @learnmograph
      @learnmograph  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great! Glad you figured it out! Yeah, sometimes depending on the tracker data you do need to mess with the scale a bit to get it to look right.

      Keep at it! Motion Graphics can be a steep learning curve at times, but once you learn the basics, it's easy to apply them to bigger, more dynamic projects! Thanks for watching!

    I must be doing something wrong cuz, no matter what I do, I can't for the life of me, get it to work. Either it doesn't want to track or it's far too small but any way I slice it, just doesn't work for me :(

    • @learnmograph
      @learnmograph  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not something that will necessarily work with every video clip, like if there's drastically changing perspectives, or not enough detail to be tracked (i.e. trying to put something on a blank wall), things can get difficult.

    • @gutsu4
      @gutsu4 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @learnmograph Yeah that's probably what I'm doing 😅 It's a fantastic tutorial though, definitely gonna keep this one close and keep trying with different footage and fills!

      when I create a tracking null object and import the ai image I generated of a facade im trying to get it to match the original wall but no matter if I change size or position and rotation it won't fit.

    • @learnmograph
      @learnmograph  ปีที่แล้ว

      Something you could try:
      Instead of a null, add a solid and 3D camera. Then scale the solid until it about fits where you need it to be. Pre compose the solid (choose the second option for moving all attributes inside the precomp), then open the precomp and add your AI image there. You may have to scale it so it looks off inside the precomp to get it to look right in your main comp.
      Again, happy to take a look for you: learnmograph@gmail.com

      Honestly, I've never used Mocha Pro. The free version of Mocha that is included in After Effects usually provides plenty enough functionality for me. So I can't knowledgeably comment on how Mocha Pro compares to Lockdown, not having used it.
