I was 13 when Ali won the title the 1st time, and besides being the most skilled hwt ever, he was a 1st class promoter, comedian, and world spokesman. Him and Howard Cossell made the best team ever in boxing, with regards to promoting and commentary and the banter between them. I met Ali once while I was in Vegas, about a year after he lost to Holmes. He was very friendly and very nice to me, to my way of thinking, he was an American who promoted peace with all the people of the world, I can say that without doubt, Ali was perhaps the most loved person in the world right up until his death. For my way of thinking he was the ETERNAL HWT CHAMP, and always will be.

If you know the history of America 🇺🇸 and how minorities were treated in those times, you wouldn't be any different either . Look up a video on TH-cam of Ali talking about how and when he realized that being black in America was tough. He won the gold medal 🎖 for the 🇺🇸, went to celebrate and figured he was going to get a warm welcome, but could not eat at a restaurant in Kentucky because he was black. He was so disappointed that he allegedly went and threw the 🎖 in the river and saying the damn medal means nothing when you are black in America . Can you imagine Michael Phelps being denied service at a restaurant immediately after winning the gold medal? .
