- Betty's Eddie is BanzaiBetty's coverage of the Eddie Aikau 2022/2023 is giant surf! There were 6 invited women surfers and some alternates in this historic event all in honor of Eddie Aikau and family who took care of Waimea Bay for years! Eddie the first lifeguard at Waimea Bay saved many lives. The humble Hawaiian was lost at sea off the Hokulea in 1968. Eddie went to rescue the crew after capsizing and was never seen again!
