this video helped me loads on starting off my ice climbers career, it gives you all the basics and how to use the ice climbers techniques well. all your really need to do after this is practice and maybe pick up some other smaller tech skills but other than that it is pretty much the best guide for ices in the wobbling ban era
Nice video, you’re sick!👍 post wobble ICs are one of my favorite characters to watch and your recent plays have really given my new hope for the character (always believed in the char tbh but it looked bad for the player base a little while after the ban)
I am surprised you did not mention fthrow upsmash over down throw upsmash since it is weight independent and kills earlier. But I guess downthrow upsmash makes sense for low% combos.
About auto cancel up airs. Is it really better than just shffling up airs? I feel like it will result in the same effect. I ask because I find doing a auto cancel up air out of dash really hard to time. Is auto cancel up air mostly used in place, or do you also use it out of dash?
You can mixup by using down throw fair hitlag regrab, where the fair connects just before the opponent hits the ground, and then popo regrabs during the hitlag. You have to read the di out, but if you know they SDI the dthrow dair then you should mixup with this
Can you explain counterplay to hand-offs? I can mash my controller all I want but it doesn't do anything - is it like with wobbling where I "just don't get grabbed"?
Yeah handoffs are inescapable. It’s only guaranteed when ICs are near the ledge though. Nana’s AI will throw towards ledge when she’s close to one, otherwise she does a random throw.
"Handoffs take more effort" I'm not sure. It's definitely demanding in a different way, but there are some IC's that would handoff instead of wobble because they could not figure out a way to wobble consistently
@@guywhoplaysbass cannot figure out a way to wobble consistently? they just have to tap a at 200 bpm so i find that hard to believe that they'd favor multiple 2-5 frame links that only work near the ledge, over something so easy and consistent
Another underrated tech worth learning is sliphog. Rly good against Marth especially
Thank you so much for your guides. I’m relatively new to ICs (and Melee in general) and these guides are really helping me improve.
Tip: Learn to claw grip so you can do autocancel upair with ease, and get full drift, also helps with a lot of specific desync combos
smart

You can come on the IC cord :)

auto cancel upair is used out of dash a lot. upair has a ton of landing lag, so getting the autocancel makes a huge difference.
so true bestie
Is the downthrow downair timing/spacing a mixup? Is there a way to regrab fast fallers who are DI-ing down and away + ASDI?

Uh yep, hand offs are basically wobbling but takes 300x more effort to do
@@itsasecrettoevery1 which makes it hype 👍 (unironically)
