Hello! I’m from SG! My Husband is a Korean :) many tourists like to visit Marina Bay Sands, Sentosa, East Coast Park for some Cycling or picnic by the beach & if you guys can have time, go to Tiong Bahru market for some local hawker food away from the touristy area but it’s worth the ambience ..and the food there is great:)

It's so nice hearing all the things Kyuho likes about Nova Scotia! I left there a while ago, and it's so cool to see from a foreigner perspective what they think of it!

You can take a ride on the MRT and get out at some neighbourhood areas where locals usually live. Try the hawker centres with their varieties of local dishes. Shop at the neighbourhood shops. Some neighbourhood towns you can go are Bedok, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh. Get the authentic local experience. Touristy but places worth going include Marina Bay Sands, The Esplanade, Garden By the Bay and Light Shows (7.30pm/8.45pm) , Sentosa, Chinatown, Little India, Bugis Junction. Less touristy will be Pulau Ubin (offshore island), Changi Village. To get an idea of the layout of S'pore, go to the City Gallery.

If you’re into experiencing some cute cafes, they’re some at Arab Street! They also have some artsy mural paintings too. There’s a lot of great authentic Singaporean food like Adam’s Food Court, Toast Box and my personal favourite Rubinah which is a small shop north of Singapore! But I think your family will really enjoy Gardens by The Bay, it’s a real sight and make sure to stay till night time as there’s light shows!!

Hi both, recommend these 2 places in Singapore.
    1. Kampong Glam neighbourhood (also known as haji lane or arab street). You can find nice coffee, street art and historical buildings there. Nearest station is Bugis Station.
    2. Night walk along Esplanade, One Fullerton and Marina Bay Sands for city scenic, Merlion statues and light show. Nearest station can be city hall or bayfront station depending on where u want to start the night walk.

Fan from Singapore here! Really enjoy watching all your videos. Aside from standard tourist destinations (Sentosa, marina bay, gardens by the bay, clarke quay), other places away from the hustle and bustle include Singapore Botanical Gardens and The green corridor. In terms of food, try ya kun or toastbox for breakfast. Good place for hawker food is tiong bahru market with some cafes nearby. Food places with good view include Spuds n Apron (Mt faber) and Prive cafe(keppel bay). Hope you'll have a great time in SG.

For Singapore, recommend doing the hop on hop off bus for a day, before committing to exploring things like the botanic gardens, Marina Bay Sands ect. You see everything and you're comfortable doing it on the bus and if you like something you can jump off and then get back on the bus. A 2-3 day pass is enough to see the main sites and it's not that pricey. Also the view from the roof garden (Aura - www.aura.sg) at the Singapore gallery is lovely and isn't usually that busy, but I do think it's one of the best viewing spots for the skyline both day and night.

Welcome to Singapore! I'm so glad you guys are here. I know Kyuho loves to snack. You must check out Irvins Salted Egg potato chips or fish skin. It's addictive! They are located at a few popular malls. You can easily Google for it. Salted egg anything is pretty much a craze in Singapore. So if you are eating at a Chinese restaurant, you can order fried salted egg prawns or squid to try.

Visit places such as Marina barrage, Sentosa, Labrador Park, Marina Bay Sands, Botanical Garden (There's a performance by my Uni on the 22th of October there), Esplanade, Serangoon Garden's (Chomp Chomp Food Center) or alternatively Newton Circles, you can head on to the West for a nature hill climb or nature reserve (Bukit Timah hill) or Sugei Boloh wetland reserve. There are a couple of more other places, to eat or drink would be mostly centered within central Clarke quay, boat quay, holland village, arab street. The Zoo (river safari) for our 2 laziest panda or head over to the universal studio in Sentosa.

I think what you like about each other's country are so true to me! I'm Thai, born & raised in Bangkok. After married to a Korean American, I moved here to the States and I can see differences right away. In Asia, everything is close together, public transportation is great, availability of food & delivery service is 24/7 and etc. I think that's good part of living in Asian countries mostly, especially in a big city :) Well, living here in the US is not bad, they do have more space and people is kind in general. And yeah they do small talks to you while walking on the street which I also asked my husband the same thing as Kyuho asked Sarah " Do you know them?" LOL
Nice episode btw, can't wait to see next one on what you don't like to see if it's gonna be the same as me haha xD
Enjoy your Singapore trip, been there so many times. Singapore is a great country and super safe to walk around. I would recommend going to the restaurant near Garden by the Bay called "Satay by the Bay" :)

If you want an exotic dining experience, you could try NOX dining in the dark restaurant. This restaurant is special as you get to dine in pitch darkness. This restaurant is themed as such as all the waiters are visually handicapped. For a cultural flavour of Singapore, you could walk around Arab Street (near Bugis MRT). Gardens by the Bay is a nice place to visit if you like flora and fauna. Lastly, for a local flavour of Singapore food, you could try Lau Pa Sat at night and try Satay and a cup of Super refreshing sugar cane juice! Hope this helps!

Greetings from Singapore! Take a walk around Kampong Glam, Little India and Chinatown. Eat char kway teow (sg version of pad thai), hokkien prawn noodle, nasi lemak (coconut rice), fish ball soup, mee rebus (noodles in peanut sauce), chicken rice and roti prata, kway chup (pig offal soup), bbq stingray and ice kachang at a hawker center/coffee shop. Wash down with a teh tarik or sugar cane juice. Try Old Chang Kee curry puffs, Songfa bak kut teh, cheap but yummy dimsum from Tiong Bahru pau, and Yakun kaya toast. Stroll along Clarke Quay, eat satay under the stars at Lau Pa Sat, visit the Peranakan Museum and chill at Haji Lane. Have a good time in Sg (:

Hey guys! I just got back from singapore myself. Which area will you guys be staying? I stayed near chinatown and found this gem called Ronin cafe. It's a very small, minimalistic cafe but the vibe is cool. Their coffee is bomb and their sandwiches are creative and good. My family skipped hotel's breakfast and went there for 2 days in a row. Their bircher muesli with grapes is also amazing. Please check the place out if you guys live nearby. Also try Mei Heong Yuan dessert, it's a chain dessert shop. I especially like their almond & walnut paste soup with sesame dumpling. Btw hope you guys have fun and please send my love to Beemo too.

My friend's family is from Korean, they speak Korean mostly but do not use formalities. All the suffixes on the words are left off so it slightly throws askew the cadence of Korean as you are used to hearing it, but it is the same language. They are from Seoul and the father from just outside of the city. There's Grandma, mom/dad and my friend and her sister. None of them use the formalities. I think it is kind of nice that way. They get to live in Los Angeles, speak their language and yet relax on the formalities. This is becoming common.

Yeah building horizontally than than vertically is usual construction of buildings in Canada but past 10-15yrs, here in Vancouver, real estate has become in short supply. So, more and more condos are being built. So, it makes sense, once you can't build horizontally, you build vertically.

I feel like here in Britain we're a bit in between, bit more reserved than north americans and a lot less space (Europe in general). Most people are friendly but if you said hi to someone in the street or outside someome would ask 'do you know them?'

  • @HiThereHeyThere

ordering, delivery, postal etc seems really fast from what ive heard about Korea, but the thing that trips me up is that there are delivery places everywhere and motordelivery system - we dont even have that in a lot of places in America. Not even in a lot of places in LA (calif). But the other thing that is crazy is that the designated driver thing where people drive you home instead of you taking a cab or uber round trip in Korea, they have 2 people come to you and one drives you home and then they zip away in their "assistance" car. How are any of those so cheap? Are there any laws that allow low low wages or something. i dont get it.

I envy u. We're international couple like u guys, but we're korean and Japanese. So if we talk about this kind of thing, for example history. .it can be a real fightㅜ.ㅜ
At the first time I fell in love with my husband, our nationality didn't matter at all, At least when we were in korea, But after we start to live in Japan, I realized there are lots of determination and racism.
Of course It just could be a prejudice though internet and news, but whenever I watch tv and internet, there are all bad news and comments about korea, it makes me nervous. I think if u guys live in Canada, it could happen also. Fourtunately Canada is not a famuse country about racism.
Anyhow I love my husband though, but I miss korea a lotㅜㅜ
