- In this video, I explain 3 phase generator full load current calculation. Basically, diesel generator unit gives in KVA so how much current should connect to the generator for useful operation. For calculation we first calculate full load current by KVA to the amp then for safety factor we calculate 80% of full load current. In this video, we explain all calculations very easily. 278.24 Amp are amp for ever phase ( L1,L2,L3). eg: L1 can use 278.24 , L2 also use 278.24,L3 can use 278.24 A?
278.24 is the total current or maximum save current of this 3 phase generator, so 278.24 is combined current of all phases not for a single phase, i hope this is clear now .. ..
It is not clear a previous person also asked:does this mean that you devide 278Amps by 3 to get the amps you can draw from line to neutral on each phase.
Meaning you can draw 92.7 A per phase(single phase)
This means your breaker is going to be a triple pole breaker that is in the range of 90A?
