I can honestly say that the one thing that’s always been able to calm me in any situation or put me to sleep within 10 minutes is someone playing with my hair or giving me a scalp massage even going to the hairdresser I love getting my hair washed and I hate when it’s over

As a person who absolutely LOVES having someone play with my hair or touch it (with permission if I don’t know them, bc idc if my friends randomly touch my hair w/out asking), I would do anything in the world to be this person right now.
When she said, let me do one last check, I bet her patient was thinking "thank God. It's not over yet" lol.
This is one of the better scalp checks, in my opinion. I hope you will make another one. I especially love the sticks and your fingers to part the hair and trace the scalp. Your methodical movements really make it and I really love the commentary - it makes it even more relaxing.
Have you seen the little strips you can use, that you just dab gently onto the scalp, that is for soaking up any excess oil and probably to cleanse it? I think that would add another layer to your treatments.

I love how my mother used to check my scalp for lice as a child. I was so little then but I remember clearly because it was one of the best feelings

She’s laying down on a massage table with a hole in for her face. She can breathe very well, don’t worry. Her comfort is very important to me. And her hair is indeed falling over the side of the table, but it’s a big table. Maybe that’s why it appears to be laying on a surface 😊

The chopsticks remind me of when itd be lice inspection day and i would intentionally make it seem i was subtly scratching in order to try and get them to take longer on my head. Chopsticks n hair brushing always feels so nice

I can remember that nearly 40 years ago I had a similar thing done to me as a 5 year old when they were checking all the kids in school for head lice. Though the details are now fuzzy I do remember that it was something I liked that felt very nice.
