“Dont aggravate the whiskey”…..proceeds to aggravate it lmao.
A few years ago at a charity auction, I won a tour of the distillery and tasting with JVW III. I cannot overstate how open and gracious he was with his knowledge and time. I could write volumes about that day, but suffice to say I've never regretted that auction.
Oh wow you’re privileged
He comes across very dumb here
@@LeatherDaddy97 He took a failing family business and turned into one of the world's premier brands. He's respected worldwide by those in the distilled spirits industry. Based on my personal interactions and what I know about the man's history, I'll stick with my opinion.
@@BuzCzar yes yes hes very good at marketing. His tasting knowledge on the other hand needs work.
@@LeatherDaddy97 For decades, every bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon was from barrels tasted and approved by Julian. Now, his son helps with the tasting. One of the hallmarks of the Van Winkle bourbon is the consistency in nose, mouth feel, taste, color, and finish. Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of bourbon knows this. His palate is proven.
The trick is being able to distinguish the dishonest distributor in the supply chain.
Most of Pappy goes overseas, says Julian himself.
Or you can taste the best way. However you want. There is no best way or right way. Also swirling it isnt bad in any way.
What a blessing to learn from one of the greatest. Family legacy with an enduring commitment to Bourbon. Enjoyed the series!
Our pleasure!
I want one of those Rip Van Winkle jackets so bad haha
Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and keep swirling.
VERY VERY COOL!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Good video
Thanks for the visit
Funny how he doesn’t swirl his glass and everyone else does and some very aggressively and constantly. As he said it’s not wine and really nosing is a important part but not as important as taste. I’ll nose just to see what I’m drinking a bourbon or rye or a wheated bourbon. Then I taste hold it for just a bit then drink and wait to see what the finish is like. Within just a minute I know if it’s something I like or if it’s a pass.
Thanks for the useless summary. WTH
Swirling doesn't do anything bad to it at all...
You ain’t tasting pappys on the tour at Buffalo trace
Not how i taste whiskey but to each his own if it works for him great .
Thank you for this great educational video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
