Honestly probably one of the best updates done for a vehicle the fact they went over the top for something so simple is impressive and the trailers they added were a bonus no more struggling with road trains and connections etc
Making a road train is still a struggle, lol.
The new model is so nice and clean!! But I miss the nostalgia that the old one gave. Love the flexing it has now, the physics work better on it.
You can change the weight of those cargo boxes in tuning menu - they are factory set to 0 so your truck was the same weight all the time

Its so nice to see this getting an update. When the Cement Mixer comes out I would like to see a tow vairient, like a wrecker.
Being on the top bunk of the long haul version, and just staring at the cars below would definitely be one of my bucket list things to do))
BTW, they did show the cement mixer WIP (IN THE FULL PATCH NOTES) , BUT apparently the WIP picture of the cement mixer shows its actually a European style mixer rather than a American one. You can cross reference the WIP picture to real life European and American cement mixers
So that's why the T series we got has the file name "american_semi"

I am curious on how the racing, off-road and Cement Mixer upfit configurations will look for the T-Series? I'm sure they will look great 👍

Loved the intro Neil. This reminds me ALOT of ATS. I've never played it, I've been wanting to play it for quite a while, but I haven't gotten around to buying a pc or anything yet. But that is definitely something I am considering over the next few years.
Absolutely impressed with the latest vehicle update. It's clear that they've put a lot of thought into refining even the smallest details. Those additional trailers are a welcome surprise, making the overall experience much smoother. Great job!

The T83 Long Haul Custom (M) Is a reference to the 1980s kids' series "MASK".
The new T Series is great, I actually recreated the old version of the Patriot Special,and I gotta say, it's not half bad,I straight piped it as well so you get the deeper engine noise
It still baffles me how no content creator ever mentions the "Long Haul Custom", which is an awesome nod to the truck named "Rhino" from the 80s cartoon and toyline of M.A.S.K.
I instantly recognised it, as soon as I saw that preview pic. I guess everyone is too young to remember that...

I've fallen in love with the cabover single-decker sleeper with the lighter tan interior. Still refining the outer color trims.
It's not disgusting, it's lived-in! It's not cramped, it's cozy!
It's a bit harder to see the details in the darker trims.
These things are surprisingly capable offroaders. I've taken mine around the perimeter of Johnston Valley more than once (including hauling trailers) and generally only suffered getting the front bumper banged up from bouncing into the ruts. Helps to install the lifted suspension. Wouldn't take one down a rocks course though.
As for trailers, the tanker trailer does not love steep tilt angles and the splash guards snapped off in like ten seconds, followed by the low hanging toolbox getting deleted.
The container hauler ate it right up though. The dry van is a fragile thing, but as long as you don't scrape it across the rocks you'll usually bring it home in one piece, sans the low hanging toolbox.
Other commenters have noted that if you take the tiny single axle cabover and lock the rear diff with a big turbo on it it becomes a competent drift missile.
I've gotten mine (dual axle cabover sleeper) pretty solidly sideways before. And then spun out. Oops. Nobody said I was good at drifting.

Keep it up Neil love the videos, I’d love to see some more custom parts for the t series. Would like to have engine options and side lights and stuff like that.
If you look at the trailers there is also a reference to "Knight Rider" and that's the Trailer from the Truck "F.L.A.G. Mobile Unit" and the car "K.I.T.T." as the Soliad Wendover wich is really cool
A great way I've found the get vehicles sideways on jumps that don't want to get sideways, is to use full-force node grab while slow-mo is turned on. When it's turned off, things go crazy. It never fails to disappoint.

I have a challenge for you Neil.
When I was a truck driver, some of the older drivers who have driven a cab over (COE) always said that COE's are always the first ones to the accident scene.
Can you put a dummy in a COE and have a wreck that will eject the dummy from the cab?
Prove them old timers that they are right!
BTW I am a retired truck driver and this was a common comment made by other drivers in regards to COE's.
Oh! Maybe throw some explosive balls in the box or dump the truck bed.

1. Cab-over, as in cab is over the engine. 2. Dump drivers regularly drive with the bed up, to spread or help empty the container a bit. Generally, to activate the PTO for the bed, you have to put the brakes on, one is for the "cab" the other is for the "trailer"....sort of.
Notice the devs changed the rear suspension to walking beam on some trucks

I’ll say it again meng, hell yeah trucks and cab over love. I’m more a fan of that kenworth tiered sleeper look but a classic cab over is totally still a head turner.

I do have a few complaints about the new T series. The brakes are weird. They lock up way too easily and there doesn't appear to be an front brakes. The rear wheels will lock up even when only applying half brakes but even with the brake pedal to the floor, the front wheels just keep right on rolling. Also, the ones with snorkel style intakes that stick up above the cab aren't real. Then engine still floods if it gets submerged in water.
I must have a setting wrong or something because I can't see the trailer in my side view mirrors.

There is a hidden folder in the vehicles folder that says semi_eu_truck.
The new truck is pretty great, but the manual gearbox is pretty meh. Without carefulness it constantly stalls upon braking. A vehicle I would rather enjoy driving in automatic version.
With a mod I can basically drive it like in ETS 2.
The truck is also very lacking in the parts department, and some ABS would be nice to have. I can't get it stopped in time in traffic.
Are you also using the range splitter? Seen people saying it's a 5spd manual lul

@@LexusLFA554 try hauling 100k+lbs I bet you'd be using the splitter...lul the rpm drop from 2nd to 3rd without using the splitter is horrid on anything other than flat ground but even then it's still helpful.

You didn’t add weight to the cargo boxes.. you have to go to the tuning menu to do that otherwise the boxes don’t have any weight to them.
Whatever modders plan to give to this remake of a truck, I'm looking forward to see what they've made.
Although I'm glad this exists now, it's kinda saddening to see how this update displaced a lot of mods that used the old T-Series and/or vehicle mods that used parts from it.
Tbh I would love to see more European and Asian vehicles in Beamng.

they spend more time on vehicles than making the physics work ,especially friction and gravity.
In the parts menu, you can get the cement mixer body if you try hard enough.
there is something cool in this update which is kinda an easter egg but not really so there is a black pressure tank at the bottom of the truck and if you rip it off while going super fast the brakes will lock up and then the truck will be on but undriveable edit: there is also a noise that plays in the truck when you do this you have wait a few seconds though
The air pressure is used for the brakes, and the buzzer indicates low air pressure. When you lose air pressure, the brakes on a semi-truck lock up in real life.
