This song was recorded and then filmed in my studio. All the recording, mixing, mastering, filming, editing and uploading I do by myself.
"Forever" is a song by the American rock band Kiss. It was released as the second single from the 1989 album Hot in the Shade. The power ballad was co-written by Paul Stanley and Michael Bolton.
"Forever" begins with Stanley singing over an acoustic guitar intro, with the rest of the band joining during the first chorus.
The song was remixed at Electric Lady Recording Studios in New York, by Michael Barbiero and Steve Thompson for commercial release as a single. A music video was released to promote the song. It received heavy airplay on MTV, attaining the #1 position on the channel's "Most Requested Videos" show several times. The clip is perhaps the most understated video Kiss has released, as it shows the band playing the song in an empty room.
"Forever" peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April 21, 1990, making it the group's first US Top 40 single since "I Was Made for Lovin' You" reached number 11 in 1979. It was the band's ninth and, to date, last Top 40 American single. It also reached number 17 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks on March 17, 1990.

🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: My name is Alyona Yarushina, or Aly. I was born in Russia, moved to the USA in 2020, and I am a singer, a musician,
I play the piano and do many arrangements myself, I’m in love with 80s and 90s rock. In Russia, I played with several bands. One of them is the best Led Zeppelin tribute band in Russia called "Plumbum Dreams". The other one is called "Back from the USSR", where we played Beatles songs in my own arrangements. We played in Liverpool, England almost every year on the Beatles week fest. My dad, Valeriy Yarushin is my bass player in this band. He's a legend of Russian folk-rock and his band “Ariel” was most popular in the 70s and still is now. I learned a lot from him.
In 2004, I won the “International Hopes of Europe” competition in Sochi, Russia along with the “Grand Prix” prize for singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston.

When I was deployed to Afghanistan for a 3rd time I took my Gibson 12 string Accoustic with me. Some other guys in my unit had their guitars as well and we use to play this song alot. The Afghan kids use to sit with us with looks of total amazement and beg us to play different songs they had heard us play before. They had never heard this type of music before. That is one of the very few good memories I have from that war.

This is such a hard song to sing. It's one of my favorites, but I've always thought Paul Stanley was really pushing his range to sing it, and he gets "screechy" on the highest parts.
I think it's naturally in a female's range. Aloyna sounds completely comfortable singing it.
I've always wondered what it would sound like with Michael Bolton singing it, but I've never been able to find a recording of him singing it.

I loved it! I appreciate the additional background information about the original song, your work and experience. What you didn't include were the names of the musicians providing the backing track. Is it a generic track available for purchase? Whoever did that solo acoustic part did a great job covering one of the most perfect solos in rock music, performed by Bruce Kulik.
