When she saved him from assassination by hugging him tight so Fangfeng bei would not shoot him with his arrow, when she showed her authority as the Haoling princess to take him along to see the Xiyan king , when he was going insane from his drug addiction and she hugged him tight and sang his mother's lullaby , when he killed Xiaoyao's assassins without caring how that will make him loose all his support to become the king, when he first found that Wen Xiaoliu was Xiayao (that expression man), when they fought side by side in the palace while protecting the other, their happy childhood memories, her swing that he will always build to make her feel home , when she came to back to haoling and found someone exactly like her mom and cried in sorrow asking why she abandoned her and no one could calm her down but him, i love how he calls her xiaoyao like its a name only he would call her by and many other little expressions of his when looking at her , the jealousy, the adoration , the pain, the longing for something more than what they are ...
I love all 4 actors equally. Each of them has their personality of how they expressed the love to Xiao Yao, but Cang Xuan also deserves the same recognition as Tushan and Xiangliu. He is good looking and acts well in his role in this drama.
I do love Cang Xuan’s character. He loves Xiao Yao but he doesn’t know what to let XiaoYao knows about his love. He has to keeps his emotional in his heart. Zhang WanYi can into the Cang Xuan’s character. He done a great job.❤❤❤

Everything he did he did it for the better of the kingdom and all the people. He's a good ruler and a good friend to those who helped him to the throne except Jing who has always been his love rival. The worst and the most stupid thing he ever did is what he did to Jing. It's not hard to understand why, but I'm still disappointed that he decided to do it anyway. He should've known better. Cang Xuan, Jing, XiangLiu..... I know XiaoYao loves them all. Each of them has a special place in her heart but Jing, only Jing, is the one she wants to live with as husband and wife. To XiaoYao, Cang Xuan never be considered anything else but brother. She can do anything for him, killing foes, risking her life to protect him or even dies for him if that's the only solution left. She told him to do anything he could to get the woman he loves but she never included herself in that. He should've known how devastated she would be if Jing died. It was the worst and cruelest thing he did to Xiao Yao. Zhang WanYi did a very good job as Cang Xuan. I remember him well now. A promising actor with talent. Wish him more and more success all the way.
When Xiang Liu asked if she was willing to marry Jin. She said, she was. But when Xiang Liu asked "All her life, who she want to be with most" She did not say, "Jing or Can Xian" She tried to against Xing Liu's power, not to answer this question.
The most tragic character so far. He cannot change his fate because no matter what road he picks, it's always a dead end. He's destined to be the loneliest emperor. 💔
I kind of understand Cang Xuan. If he can’t get the power = die (since he’s king’s nephew everyone in royal fam want to kill him) and can’t protect her. This character is so sympathetic. Be her brother (means brother forever) Be the King (have to married so many wives for make peace) but Xiao Yao just needs someone who only have her and she have to come first. It’s so simple for her but he can’t do that since he was born in this family.
I feel so sad for this character. Like you said he dont have choice to choose. All he want only xiao yao happy but he feel hurt because he cannot get xiao yao as his wife. Actually he will get nian as his wife ( sister from xiao yao )
There were times when i felt sympathetic towards him, however he proved to be too manipulative, even to XiaoYao who he claimed to love and cherish. He pushed her towards Jing and then FengLong. Later on when he felt like he got everythin else settled (became the King) he decided that he wants XiaoYao for himself and this tried to kill Jing, even tho he knew that he couldn’t give her what she truly desired. I wishes he could have had a bigger heart and kept lovin XiaoYao in a way that keeps her happy and chase off her sorrow, not lettin her sheddin so much tears like he did. He became greedy and wanted to possess her, monopolisin her. Look at XiangLiu, he knew he couldn’t be the man that XiaoYao wants, thus he resorted to lovin her by makin her life a contented and happy one. That’s true affection and care.
Zhang Wan Yi plays his character so well. You can really see and feel his sacrifice and emotion towards Xiao Yao. Everything Cang Xuan did throughout his life was to be with Xiao Yao and to protect her. Him marrying someone to stay in power was to protect her. All of his time and everything was for her. Both of them make such a good team and staying side by side through all the ups and downs. It's so sad to know that they will not end up together in the end. 😭Both actors are impressive and have such great chemistry between them. Can't wait for SS2.😊
Cang Xuan has the best”smile to your face” and then drops that pretense of a smile the second he turns his back on you….especially with Tushan Jing… it’s amusing to watch!

Just noticed the two times he looked up the sky . When he got married and when he was crowned. Two instanced when his fate was sealed. The two things xiaoyao can never see past . Girl will give her life for him , but her heart? Never. Her heart's been broken way too many times for that . Cang xuan man, why do ya do that to yourself and to me. I had three options yet here I am .cause even after so many months only cang xuan with xiaoyao made sense to me even if they don't end up together
Its a beautiful production ...everyone did a powerful job portraying their character...I highly recommend it for viewing....it was the first time foe me to watch these actors and they ALL did an incredible job...fell in love with him ...his performance as Cang xiu was consistent and wonderful

Xiang Liu, the most deserving of love yet he was too afraid to go all the way with it. He’d rather love her from a distance so that Shao Yao can remain pure and loved by someone that can give her a good life. He didn’t trust himself to do that for her. He was always there for her, even accepting the poison bug because that kept a connection between them. My favorite character. ❤
He truly love her deeply. If you read the novel you would understand his character. He’s doing every possible thing to keep her safe. He’s sacrificing a lot for XY. But Jing deserve her because he is the only one who can give the her the inner peace.
