I'm surprised Rosalia has gotten so big so quickly over there, it usually takes a long time before our big names even register to them. Take even just British musicians, same language and yet if you ask most Americans they'd be like "uh Harry Styles, Adele, Sam Smith, Zayne." End. When I was working over there I met a girl who thought Coldplay was like an underground indie band 😂 you don't realise how little of the rest of the world's music and culture they get until you talk to them about it.

I know for me my playlists are chock full of different languages and artists from different cultures. That's what makes it so much fun! Americans society just seems to be that way. They usually have little knowledge of geography and especially world events. Their news doesn't seem to report on international news the same way we report on American news. They just isn't have the same exposure to anything outside of America they way we do

We grow up with a very Americanized version of history and facts. I think it's true that the victors write history. Just a fun fact about YUNGBLUD aka Dom. He's very open about his mental health, particularly his ADHD, and even incorporates his experiences into his music. As someone who also has ADHD, the way he goes about expressing what it's like and the way people look at you and treat you is more nuanced and thoughtful than most. He's used straitjackets and other "asylum" equipment before in videos/pictures and it's never been thrown in cheaply- at least in my view. Now that I think about it, it's actually lowkey interesting how he uses fashion and accessory to visualize what's commonly called "the invisible illness."
