Orioles didn't have a MEDIOCRE second half..... they played under 500 with a team that won 101 games a season ago. The first thing this GM needs to do is to be honest enough to say the team performance was not good after a very fast start to the season.
Mets fans are delusional. You haven't won a game of the LCS and NYY fans are much more concerned about te Dodgers making a play for Soto. only Mess fans think they'll get him. When he leads the Yankees to no 28 (Hopefully beating te Mess and winning their second Subway Series) he won't want to go anywhere.
The Orioles fell apart in June when they got swept by Houston. The offense struggled for the rest of the year. By the trade deadline, the offense was in trouble. He keeps bringing up injuries. Every team deals with that. The offense was struggling for almost 2 months before Westburg got hurt. Elias loves to get guys who are projects. Who haven't been good, and he hopes a change of scenery will make them good players all of a sudden. He does this to make himself look smart. Well, it failed, big time. I wanted the Orioles to get Lucas Erceg at the deadline, but nope! Elias goes and gets 2 bullpen arms from the Phillies, who were not good anymore. He needs to stop dumpster diving for free agents in the off-season and players at the trade deadline. I hated it when they signed Kimbrel. He wasn't good coming into this year and still isn't. Stop dumpster diving for projects, Mike.
It's hard to think of the NYY's as a "team of destiny" like the Mets when they are so mediocre to subpar at so many crucial aspects of MLB... If the Yanks lose to KC Boone HAS TO GO.... he can't linger any longer after 7 long years of "crapshoot" playoff performances... I get the sense he even realizes his teams malaise in the playoffs just watching him and listening to his listless babble repeating the same things every playoff season.... The Yanks are not a good playoff team. And even if they beat KC I dont think they can win a W.S..
