Bravo - for me this intensely musical performance achieves just the right balance of poise and energy. Anderszewski moves very naturally back-and-forth from the role of director to that of soloist, and in the process ensures unity of conception.
And Mister Anderszewski loves Mozart. He said Mozart is the only composer that gives him the feeling, that it is a privileg to be alive. Or that he never got over the fact, that Amadeus died so young. Yes, he loves him and we can hear it here!
I saw Piotr for the first time three weeks ago and was just blown away by this awesome and mesmerising performer. He and his piano seem to be one and seeing his fingers just fly over the keys is thrilling. I love the way he connects with the orchestra even if he's not actually conducting. I will be seeing him play in The Barbican, London next Thursday, 15 March 2018 and it will be such a privilege to see this very special pianist perform again.
