the reason is the tracks closest to the camera are north south tracks going to the power plant about 15 or so south of springfield the other set is nor the nw line to west all the way to Kansas City the eastbound goes to Decatur and points East
As much as I like railfanning, no way in hell am I buying a house in between 2-3 independent rail crossings. That is a recipe for multiple disasters in one.
Nice video! Shame the teardrop there is gone, though I like the 8 inch light there!
Wow! Two railroad crossing very close together!
R.I.P Old signals
Very interesting crossing for sure
Great Catch with that SD80MAC!
Wow, so many signals

There are three sets of tracks.
Actually there's 2.
I'm from Springfield. This crossing is considered one of the most dangerous crossings in the United States.
With the amount of railroad crossing all grouped together, I'd be shocked if it wasn't.
You should check out the Route 23 & 38 grade crossing in DeKalb, IL. That one is insanely dangerous
@@SignalMan9292 That used to be part of my route in my previous trucking job.
@@johnfitzpatrick3094 interesting. Did you have to turn at that intersection. Because the truck drivers look like they just absolutely hate it
@@SignalMan9292 No. I just drove straight through.
What diamond is that the train is crossing on the Hannibal district, is it the Union Pacific
No, the I&M
No, the IBM(I&M)

This is North, not East.
Glenn McGeath Train was going east to Decatur.
