      They do get their pension but what they do not get are the supplementary benefits linked to their low pensions which is there to enable them to live « decently » in France. If you contribute fully to the French pension scheme you get it back and can live wherever you want. These people either did not pay into the scheme or paid too little. A case of making your bed…or wanting your cake. Having said this these people will never be at home either in France or Algeria. They are exiles and strangers for the rest of their lives. Sad but the true condition of all migrants. You belong nowhere after a while.

      French pensioners can live wherever they want with their pensions. Many opt to live in Portugal, Morocco or Tunisia. Their pensions are not reduced, even though they stop paying any tax to the French system.

      The treaties and laws make no sense in a mobile society where people study, live and work abroad very often due to necessity. Algeria and France need a treaty which respects the lives and the labor that these people provided the nation.

    • @marcbuisson2463
      @marcbuisson2463 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Zaradean698 It's not double standards, it's an EU rule and part of the fiscal harmonisation amongst its members.
      Algeria left the EU in 1976, so are not concerned by the framework.
      Also, many countries in the world have this rule, effectively forcing people to spend most of their pension in the country to avoid the national money being spent outside.
