If a speed hump is going to cause damage, going out on most roads will give a car a hammering. They're annoyed that they can't drive fast.
@@Bond2025 Well no they'll just avoid this retail park and organise the meet somewhere else. That and plenty of the cars attending the meet made it in they simply went over the bumps slowly. All these bumps do is a cause a backlog onto the main road which more dangerous.

When I was younger we used to do burn outs on these rubber speed bumps, it was amazing how much smoke came off them and how quickly they melted. I do not condone anyone doing this.

Just go back to early AdamC videos and you'll see irresponsible driving, and pedestrians putting each other in danger. There have been many near misses, and a couple of bumps. Also, this parking area is private land, I'd imagine that the owners have had enough of it over the years.

I have nothing against teens being teens, smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves whilst sharing a hobby. Then again I get out a lot. For the most part these events are completely peaceful.

Went in my campervan to B&Q and managed to empty all my cupboards onto the floor as did not expect the aggressive bumps. Def won’t be retuning, would rather drive to Basingstoke now!
There’s now a traffic jam going on to the the main road because of drivers slowing down to go over them. I’ve seen cars get stuck on and scrape on them, and it wasn’t even modified or lowered cars, just regular people In stock cars going to the shops.

@@tankiadam4967 while you might be right, although Adam does have some vids in the same location showing people attempting to drift/slide around the roundabout/turn just inside the car park and attempting burnouts, there's also all the noise from the people at that meet who would park up the 1 series/A1/VW and bounce it off the limiter for ages and that's not even mentioning the less than controlled way a lot of people would leave that meet onto the road. As i mentioned in another comment, the speed bumps are clearly being used as a "go away car meets" device, rather than a speed reduction device, but if police hadn't seen/had reports of people entering/leaving like twats by members of the public, there'd probably be no speed bumps.

I'm not really disagreeing with you, but i'd say it's not just "the system" to blame, a lot of the blame also has to go to all the people who hold/attend those shitty "meets" when they're driving like absolute dicks on public roads and putting others at risk. The car community isn't entirely blameless, i accept it's not all car enthusiasts that do that, but there's also little done by the community to stop that sort of behaviour either.
I remember in a town nearby my hometown they put this in a place were ppl use to street racing, they first burn them, government put it again and ppl burn it again. Then the local town government made a concrete one, then the same people went again and start slamming with hammers. It ended up when they put a camera in front of that speed bump.
I saw that done at Crewe years ago at the Grand Junction Retail Park. I will never forget the man with his son a a Jaguar for sale with one careful owner. He was thrashing it about in the snow and ripping up the speed humps. There was also a Land Rover with pipes out of the bonnet that backfired!!! Great show back then.

Is there a law that says someone cant build a wooden ramp to make the bumps less of an issue? If not the some Hero needs to make one to put there at the time of the meet.
Where i live in a wee scottish town is absolutely mental with the speed bumps now.. theres at least 4 put in anywhere theyre added now and its fucking bonkers. Cant drive anywhere without crashing about and mys suspensions standard! It might be a vxr burg but it still doesnt warrant the ridiculous speed bumps these days
Just a note: Speed humps can be legally up to 4" high, illegal if over. (Pillows however can be any height but there are rules on the angle of their slopes). Construction and use regs mean cars must have 4" of ground clearance. So in theory ALL cars should be able to navigate speed humps if they go slowly enough

Still a lot of old men trying to attract people by the look of it, all very sinister! Fortunately I only went to a few car cruises at Chester, Manchester and Crewe. They were mainly enthusiasts showing how much in debt they were and had nothing really to show for it apart from cars losing value that no one would ever buy. It was mostly street racing and fairly dangerous. In a service station on one motorway there was a Range Rover racing people in a straight line until police arrived. Only one car stood out and it was a converted Nova 1.3SR that had a 2litre engine and dashboard from an Opel Monza. The person that put it together was showing people as it took him years to complete. The rest were "bolt-on" mods from Halfords and rubbish in comparison. The best Car Cruise was one that started out in Frodsham with someone called Crazy Kayll and ended up in a Truck Stop on the M6. Police had to close the truck stop as thousands turned up. The service station people opened all the shops and fast food outlets up and welcomed everyone as they made a fortune!!!

If you can name any reason lowered suspension should be in any way illegal, your purely making sh_t up, if a obstacle in the road may damage your vehicle you are legally allowed to claim compensation.
but they won't cause damage if you go slow enough, and speed bumps main purpose is to slow people down. I mean that's clearly not what these are being used for, these are being used as an "anti car meet" bump, but while these speed bumps are the really crap kind that's super harsh, i highly doubt any claim for compensation would work out, i mean councils are meant to pay for damage caused by potholes, but we all know there's a million loop holes for them to get out of it, and even if they are at fault they'll often only agree to pay a tiny amount and make you wait ages for it.

Fitting certain components and not declaring it to insurance companies is illegal as those components not fitted correctly, not covered by the manufacturer or not part of the original design and safe handling specifications often present a much greater risk. That's why your insurance increases. If the parts the boy racers are buying to bolt on were any better than what it fitted from the factory, they would be fitted at the factory. Costs would not need to be high as so many would be required. You can't claim for obstacles in the road causing damage. You can claim if damage was caused to any unmodified car operating within the original design specification IF you can prove that a council was negligent and as a result of this you suffered loss or damage. Check what the Law says. Definitions of words are different in the legal world to how you might try and describe something.

I would argue for the opposite, it seems all the "car meet" cars which are lowered have to slow down to a crawl. Therefore it actually works perfectly as shown in the video.
I'm not sure how a speed hump would cause back and neck pain to someone inside a car, unless they were too stupid to slow down to go over it and have a medical condition or impairment that means they would not be in proper control of a vehicle whilst driving. I would like to see them getting in and out of their car if they had such difficulty. If going over a bump on a road causes such pain, that driver shouldn't be in a car. They can't have it both ways - stating they're suffering from various things to often get a free car on benefits, but by their very own admission, not be able to safely control a vehicle due to restricted movement.
