I appreciate the compliment, it does take a lot of work to get it to this stage. LOTS OF WET SANDING has been done 🤣🤣🤣

paint job looks good man. Always spray a mist coat before clear if you have sanded a metallic base.

Man, I think you're to hard on yourself. That paint job is wicked. I love the color too!. It looks like one big chunk of Graphite atm, but once the black hydro turf goes on and a few decals to break it up it will look choice.

I appreciate the kind words. Once I die down with shrink wrapping we will get more videos out on this ski getting put back together. So keep an eye out for the rest!

Don’t beat yourself up. For a first time it looks good. I hate wet sanding. I’m nervous the whole time that I’m gonna burn through. Especially when I am sanding orange peel.

The biggest problem with painting a ski is durability. Paint is just so thin. Even gelcoat which is a few mm thick gets banged up hard sometimes. But at least Gelcoat you can just wet sand it back to smooth again (most times). Very curious to see how this paint held up after a summer.

Shockingly enough, the ski is still sitting on the stand. The shop is fully booked so I have zero time for that ski. The shop toys are getting bigger so watch out for a new series coming out soon

I'm glad you reached out. All the products I used are off the ColorRite.com website which is model specific and give you a step by step on what materials you'll need.
If you check out the first video of painting this ski i go over all the materials I used.

I like that color. Have you thought what color you are going to paint the side fairings?
Im looking at an 07 GP1300 thinking of buying one they look like nice, any input?

I fought myself about the color but The fairings are going to match the body, im going to break up the color with the graphics. I love the look as well, the body lines hide behind the gloss but this ski is mean looking in matte. I appreciate the comment. If your not already, give me a follow to help out the channel. 🙏🙏

I'm not even going to pretend I know everything to you. If I tried explaining it to you, it would literally be the blind leading the blind. However, I use the PAINT SOCIETY'S CHANNEL as a reference when it comes to paint.

thinking about sanding down my 97 polaris it’s all fiber glass so i was thinking of doing an american flag almost wave from front to back with that bass boat sparkle in it
