    I like your mindset on comfort. Roughing it when you're already stressed is only going to make you that much more stressed. People forget that.
    Imagine how your day goes in normal life when you're sleep deprived and hungry, now imagine in a really crazy shtf way.

    The tent will keep you a hell of a lot warmer too. Also I would still bring a tarp to put over your tent for extra protection from heavy rain

    If youre going to carry and use that tent I would add a pair of trekking poles, that way you could set it up right away without having to cut or find limbs for the uprights. They also make poles for the same thing but the trekking poles are multi use, just a thought, and you could also set it up in areas without trees should that be necessary. Thanks for showing! 👍

    • @idahoprepper
      @idahoprepper  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah.. I’m definitely considering adding poles to that tent system.. thanks for watching!

    A quick deploy ridgeline works awesome with that tent as well if there are trees close by. My son has the same tent and loves it.

    I also keep powdered bone broth in my kit. Long storage protein and electrolytes that is “just add water”. Doesn’t get better than that.

    Awesome video....I've got a question about the Baofeng G11S radio's... Do you know if you can buy a converter for the battery ? I know some of the Baofeng models you can buy an incert that converts the radio to double or triple A batteries ?

    I have my backpack, battlebelt and chest rig. Bushcraft guys need to learn off hikers. Plus hikers need to learn off bushcraft people. Im getting a lightweight quilt soon. I have my silkyboy saw. Weight matters a lot. More weight more calories. Tents dont keep us warm. A folding lightweight mat is great. I cut mine in half long way. I need only spinal and hip bone support. Also trekking poles are light and can be used for a trekking pole tent or simply a tarp. My titinum small stove is great. Plus old school esbit fire tabs for quick coffee. Bushcraft guys carry way to much heavy gear. Between my backpack, battlebelt and chest rig its all still heavy but more balanced. Unlike a hiker im looking at more long term survival. With my ar6 stinger 2 repeating crossbow and slingshot for small game. Plus of coarse passive fishing and small game gear. I have my hammock. Preferred but i can use my tarp. I just call it my survival gear for whatever.

    How do you combat mosquitoes. Where I’m at northern Midwest. It’s fuckin brutal you go outside in long sleeve layers or get ate up.

    • @idahoprepper
      @idahoprepper  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I hear ya! It’s probably not as bad here as you guys have it.. but the way I deal with it is using the Ben’s mosquito spray… the new tent really does help though! I had two shirts on, and the mosquitos were still poking me through the two layers! 😬 good luck! Thanks for watching!

      South Floridian here, we have mosquitos that can be confused with small birds. Thermacell products work pretty good. My wife has a rechargeable bug repeller that takes little cartridges. It works well and she’s sensitive

      Yeah, I think maybe you missed the theme of the video.. the entire video was based around a survival situation! I’m not suggesting people should go around setting snares as a regular means of food procurement..
