One of my favorite videos..I grew up with cows and there is such a peaceful
sweetness to listening and watching them roam freely about their yummy grasses..also, I
love the scene where the cow is lying down and is having a bit of trouble getting up and another younger cow
casually walks by and gives her a nudge and she is up and both are on their way..surely
speaks to us humans about how a little bit of kindness goes a long way😊

After visiting Switzerland, cows and their bells was one the most beautiful part of our trip. Especially in the mountains when there is no one around but cows and their bells. You could hear this sound even from a distance.. gives so much peace and makes you feel close to nature. This is a very nicely made video with no other noise and just cowbells. I work on Alp farm in Switzerland when i was kid. I miss this sound. I miss this life. Homesick very strong.
All I have now is my great grandmother's last cow bell, to remind me what i have lost.
Cow bells are animal abuse.
I was feeling kind of down, but when i saw that beautiful sweet cow chomping away at that grass at 13:40, i smiled right away. So beautiful! I wish I could hug these gorgeous babies. How people can eat them is entirely beyond me!!! Thank you for this video!

I’ve never been to such a beautiful place like that ever. I sit here in my urban apartment with no nature around, and I put this on my big screen TV while I work on my computer. It’s really going to suck having to go back to the office and miss this.

One of my favorites..all cows should dream of this treatment..also, I just delight in the cow that passes by the another lying down and with just a nudge of its nose the cow gets up! Wish people would react more this way..sometimes it takes only a friendly nudge..only the bells ringing and water falling that I can regulate..thank you!
I actually came here for the sounds of nature and the cowbells but the sound of the cows ripping off the grass has definitely become my favourite sound by the end

I'm amazed at the cluelessness of people complaining that the bells are somehow harmful to the cows. The bells are for safety. They are like little GPS devices and allow the herder/rancher to locate each cow when they are pasture grazing like this. If you listen carefully you'll notice there are different kinds of bells - some larger some smaller. The herder knows which cows have which bells and how to listen for each.
The animals wear the bells from birth. Young calves know to follow the bells. They too use the sound to locate the herd. They are accustomed to them and the bell sounds keep them calm. They don't bother them in the least.
By comparison the human practice of wearing shoes (with high heels no less!) might seem absurd. I mean who would willingly wear something that scrapes the back of their heels raw just for looks?!
Exactly! I was just about to say the same thing. The bells mean "you are safe" and "were over here" to cows. A cow who has found a particularly sweet mound of grass doesn't have to panic if she looks up to see her companions gone (for prey animals the worst thing is to lose the herd) she can hear from the bells they're only a short way off.
But city folk are not too bright when it comes to animals or animal husbandry. Oh well. The cows don't care if people don't get it. 🐮❤️🔔
I also saw this scene where one cow helps another, which meant that although I turn it on for the sound and ambiance I love watching this beautiful and peaceful video.

I wanted something different to listen to and rock me to sleep. And I had the funniest dream I could hear my tricycle bike bell ringing in my dream from this recording, I thought I was hearing things. The funniest part was when woke up from my sleep I was watching a COW making the same sound with the bell around his neck. My sister said" What were you dreaming about? All I heard was you laughing in the bed. I told her that it was a "COWBELL" and "COWBELLS", were a ringing! She looked at me weirdly as she was leaving for her job. I was laughing so hard. In the middle of this recording, it reminded me of a good place as a child riding my tricycle that had a bike bell w/ that exact sound. I had my Raggedy Ann Doll tied to the back of my tricycle and dragged her up and down the sidewalk. It was a good memory. But seeing the cows a few moo's and the rest were bells ringing, I swear I heard wind chimes? Too!! My bedroom is nice and quiet and listening to cowbells, bike bells and windchimes is a new adventure in listening to these pleasant sounds. Thank You, The Silent Watcher. Keep up the good work.
Reminds me of one of our most phantastic holiday in the Allgäu (Germany). We had a appartment near a meadow with cows. Never ever we had such a tremendous hosts ; they make us part of their family for 2 weeks. Now, 7 years later I still think about them.
Especially now, in a time that I suffer from serious depression.

Pretty and clean looking cows! Reminds me of the opposite effect of lions in sanctuaries (the Lion Whisperer type things) and how pristine they look compared to the wild dirt crusted bugs all over their faces lions that live "free".....Very beautiful!

Didn't know i was missing cow bells in my life. Although it's not the same, but sounds a lot kind the wind chimes (probably more than 30) clanking around in the wind at my house where I grew up.

I love the scene with the free range mountain cows, streams etc, but those cow bells for me become irritating after awhile for some reason. I was stationed in western Germany at a point in my life and lived off base in a small village outside of Ulm which reminded me of my own home in New Jersey where I worked for several farmers during my youth. In the United States we never really used cow bells but in the mountains in Bavarian towns I understood why. Lol I’m trying to find the one that’s got the deep sounding cowbell though.
