    I sure like mine, and play with it every day. The more expensive version would not bring me one bit more enjoyment. This will do anything I`m going to ask of it, and I`m looking forward to cleaning deer with it. At deer camp this year my 0562 Ti got used to clean several deer with no problem. I expect this knife will do equally well. If it will clean and butcher a couple of deer without needing sharpening, and not slip out of my hands, then it passes my test as a good knife.

    I found the S35VN/G10 version for $99.99. Thought it might’ve been an error or something but nope. Enjoying it after figuring out the most efficient way for me to deploy/close it 1 handed

    This is one of my favorite knives despite it’s called a lite I don’t care one bit since the design is well done . The knife itself is a joy to open and close and breaks in very good imo . This is over knives kf several hundred dollars when I want some flipping satisfaction I go to this , a proponent or a kizer xl sheepdog right

    Another application for this knife I could definitely see would be as a beater. You've got the Scorpion Lock, which isn't exactly going to fail any time soon, the AUS-10a is pretty easy to sharpen, and maybe you've got either a Demko Knives AD-15 Custom or a Cold Steel AD-15 (like yours truly) and you know the design would make a great knife for cutting, say, roofing material or carpeting if you're redoing a home or in general in a situation where you know your knife is going to take a beating. Knowing the AD-15's capabilities but being content to cut down cardboard, wood, and light acrylics with it, I could definitely see someone going for an AD-15 Lite to get the same design, lock strength, thicker blade stock, and general design, but also really beating it up and feeling a bit less guilty doing so.

    • @Kevinclearysharpstuff
      @Kevinclearysharpstuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I could see that as well although I much prefer a utility knife for carpet or other construction work

      @@Kevinclearysharpstuff The handymen around here seem split 50/50 on using knives or utility knives/box cutters. The knives are mostly cheaper and I even saw one fail pretty catastrophically (Kershaw of some kind; the guy was prying with it and the blade snapped), but you'll get guys with a less expensive Cold Steel now and then. I too would prefer a utility knife, particularly for carpeting.

    I agree that it’s a great design. It’s probably OK but I’m leery on how the handle tapers down at butt with my big hand. The MT LUDT has a similar shaped handle and cramps my hand. I don’t mind 3 finger grips etc on small knives but don’t like my hand being cramped on a big knife. It’s kind of silly being only .4 oz lighter. They should have been able to shave off an ounce. Most FRN is tough and durable, I don’t mind it but G10 is still better. My collection is all about ease of carry. I don’t like large knives (over 3.5”) but have several that carry well due to design /weight-MT Socom, Military, ZT 0640 etc.. They are around 5oz, 6oz is getting to the point where it’s too heavy. I still like the design and assume handle will be good. I need to get a Lawman first then a G10 one of these.

      The lawman is great provably the most widely appealing cold steel

    • @Richard-nb4iv
      @Richard-nb4iv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The lawman always finds it's way back into my pocket. That says something about the knife. I have a AD-15 S35VN waiting for me as soon as the border to the US is open again. Can't wait to visit my family and friends in the States!

    I know you're in Canada, fellow CKGer here, but it's it safe for me to shop White Mountain Knives so you get a kickback? I'd love to do it but I don't want my order to get held up or held for good at the border lol...

      I have never had anything stopped coming from White Mountain knives. The owner did say he has a couple issues with stuff going to western Canada. This knife should be no problem no matter what based on the law but the law has not mattered in this situation for a while now.

    With Demko designs I think I’d rather have an AD-10 or 20, the scorpion lock just doesn’t appeal to me in form or function..
