Hello my Beautiful People! Welcome back! In October of last year I did a collaboration with my friend @EricaHughesArt and used her pouring medium recipe, made up of gel gloss and american Floetrol. I have used that pouring medium several times and really like it for several reasons, mostly its thick and creamy consistency and the gorgeous transparent effects it creates. It also dries with a beautiful finish. Since then I have used this recipe quite a bit and lots of my viewers have asked recently for a mixing video using the gel gloss and floetrol. I hope you find this video helpful and that you start thinking of your pouring medium in a different way.
I am using Liquitex Gel Gloss and American Flood Floetrol today.
The basic recipe is one part gel gloss to 4 parts floetrol.
There are variables though, such as the consistency and thickness of the floetrol, and there are different kinds of gel gloss. I have used gel gloss, heavy gel gloss, extra heavy gel gloss and a few different brands of gel gloss.
Since I am using the loosest and thinnest of the gel gloss today. my ratio is about one part gel gloss to 3 parts floetrol. If I was using the Extra Heavy gel gloss the ratio would be 1 to 4 parts floetrol. The thicker and heavier the gel gloss you are using, the more you will need to thin it out with Floetrol and water.

There is NO Silicone
in Any of My Paint.
I am using some left over paints from my last pour, Spiral Shadow, to create a sandwich pour.
Sandwich pours are a great way to use up small amounts of color that you may have leftover.
I layer my cup with pearl white, then drizzle small layers of the colors before adding another layer of white, then more colors! We have a quadruple decker sandwich here now! HoA calls it a Dagwood haha

Thank you so much for this video, which I've referenced often (prior to today - I finally added it to my recipe book). I'm adding a fluid paint to today's pour, which reminded me to come back to this tutuorial. Thanks to both you and @EricaHughesArt for sharing it.
I like the ratios, even approximate, because quite simply they tell me what size cup to grab. I'm not grabbing an 8 oz cup and filling it 1/4 with Golden Extra Heavy Gloss Gel because even IF I could fill the cup without spilling, I'd be short and have no room to stir. The generalized ratio is great for someone like me.

I love this P.M. recipe ! Saw this on Erica Hughes channel too but several months back . I have been using similar products { diff. brands} but it seems to be very forgiving especially if you are not a measuring kind of person, like me 😂 And you can use it in many techniques by thinning it w/ water 💦

I love seeing him. We had a German Rottie. His name was Boss! Trust me the whole 150lbs of him thought he was a lapdog!! He was such a sissy until someone he didn’t know stepped into his grass. He was such a good boy and protected his Mommy, Sister, his sister (Pomeranian) Flowers and his brother (Peekaboo) Cookie for over 15 months when his daddy was in Iraq. That was my husband’s best friend!! Now his bf is a standard poodle named Sir Freddy Teddy🤣!!

I have to address this 1st. sorry can't help it. Baxter and his pet rock. 😂 That is too stinkin cute! And he talks to it! I'm a retired pet groomer and you would not believe how many people over the years would call and ask me it I took "Rockwellers". Yes I spelled that just as they said it. You asking Bax if he was one cracked me up! Mina thank you for introducing me to the Liquitex Heavy Gloss Medium. I got some to try when I was going to make a pour for my daughter and use a stencil on it. I needed a thicker paint than I had just today actually to try to save a drip one that I have done for my youngest granddaughter. I used the gel with Artist Loft tube so I can make daisies on the drip. Yep, I need to hide the smudges from my graceful drop of a coaster down across it while it was drying. Thank you for all you give to us you're wonderful. Yes, thank you too HOA.
