Great point! The dyna fxdls will only ever be available from those 2 yrs. Whereas the softail, if the continue to make it for the next 5-10 yrs, wont have the rare factor to it.

Sure styling is different but performance wise I feel the new lineup is far superior. Either way it’s just my opinion. Different folks different strokes. As always rad stuff man!
Yes, I like the review and I understand the sentiment explaining why you are not buying a new one. Great video intro demonstrating many radical jumps and wheelies.
A performance motorcycle requires the rider's weight be distributed between seat and pegs, which is why many Dyna Low Rider S buyers installed longer shocks. Harley product designers have painted themselves into a corner. The low seat height dictates forward controls, which makes all the big twins essentially "cruisers".
Dude, your bike is awesome as is & doesn’t need a thing, if it were mine I’d be very happy with it. No need to waste $ right now on a new one, nice vid!
I'm with you. I have the 2018 FXLR and had it beefed it up to a 114 (full HD warranty), fitted cruise control, and changed the crap stock bars, and then fitted a MS Road Warrior fairing. which in my opinion, not only looks the part but also is more effective at keeping the wind at bay compared with the tiny screen fitted on the 2020 FSLRS. Not worth the trading in given that I effectively already spent the money on building a bike with the performance of the S.
In my opinion, I think they should have left that namesake unique to the Dyna. They killed the Dyna line off after building the pinnacle of Dyna performance, which I think was a great way to end with a bang. The new bike looks rad but by naming it the Lowrider S that gives it a lot to live up to. Great vid as always Jon 🙏🏼

First video I have ever watched on your channel. I recognized your neighborhood right away! I grew up there and my parents still live there. Nice video and insight on the new bike.
I agree with others saying HD skimped a little bit on the features. Yeah it's an S model, but the dyna version was still a better package, and for less money. The fact that they're calling it a 'performance cruiser' but neglected to include cruise control on an $18k bike says a lot. I'll be waitin for used ones as well before I even consider trading in my fxdls.
I just bought the 2020 street bob and before I got it. It was down to the Street bob or low rider s... Is there any major differences between the two??? I love my street bob, but what are your thoughts and anyone elses.
thoughts appreciated! thanks for sharing. I'll keep my Speed Triple for hooligan, my Heritage for commuting, and the Z125 for feeling like a real kid.. i can appreciate what they are doing with the Low Rider, but like you said, it really doesn't have the same allure because the same components are on other bikes in the Softail line.
@@22ryanoc its been a great bike so far. 23K in just over a year, all commuting! I do have the 114, and would probably be just as happy with the 107, but i wanted the gloss Rawhide and Black two tone.
It’s a nice bike but I’ll stick to my 2017 LRS. But I’m very surprised that HD didn’t go overboard on the price. I think the price is right for that bike. Very much affordable.
Yeah, I agree! I think the price isn't bad considering what the others go for. One thing i hadn't thought of is that no matter what, the fxdls will always be a rare bike because it was only available for those 2 yrs. If they continue to make the softail low rider s for yrs to come, it won't have the same appeal in that regard.
@@JonsMotoGarage I would disagree because even though Harley calls it a Lowrider S it is on a completely different platform being a Softail. Like BKLow said. The 2016-17 Dyna Lowrider S was like a CVO bike having the 110ci engine, throttle by wire, and cruise control. It's the only Dyna ever to have cruise control. The new Softail platform has a 114ci engine but so do a lot of the other Softails. The new bike is just not that different from other Softails so to me it's not as unique as the 2016-17 models. Just my opinion.
You're progression of the disease is still manageable. Just about the time I get my bikes setup for riding perfection, I turn around and trade them for a new one to make right. Never owned an HD because I could never spend that much on a bike and have to spend so much more to make it right. While I am an anti-fan of the all black trend, I do think HD did a nice job with this one. I don't think USD forks make much difference at street speeds, but they do make it look more sporty as do the twin rotors which are also of dubious benefit. My fave parts are: 1. The handlebars. Whoever put those farm tiller bars on the original LR should leave HD and go work for John Deere. 2. The 114. Not because it's any more powerful than the 107. For all I know, the power to weight of the 107 is actually better, but the 114s I've ridden all have smoother off/on throttle response than the 107s. 3. The 5 gallon tank, though I'm not a fan of that massive gauge cluster. I think the FB's tank looks much better. 4. The mid mounts are more appropriate for a sporty model. Frame still has the bosses to add some forward mounted highway pegs. Where I think they screwed the pooch was saddling this "sport" model with a "slammed" shock and not including passenger accommodations. Personally, I'd like a FB in that new maroon with 17" spoke wheels in standard sportbike widths. I like the ability to have a large selection of tires to choose from rather than pay outrageous prices for these goofy, proprietary HD tire sizes. It's also one of the few Softails to get a proper suspension outta the box.
Once again, a masterpiece of an article! Hahaha! Well said and you always bring up great points that I hadn't considered. I also dig the look of the fb tank a lot more. I hadn't thought of the suspension aspect either.
Thanks, brotha! I did a walk around vid of my low rider s.Search "dyna low rider s walk around parts break down" and you should be able to find it. I bought the bike as is and always forget the front fairing brand. Lol.
If you want inverted forks and dual front brakes on a dyna look into Corsair Inverted Front End Kits by Gigacycle Garage. They are completely bolt on kits with everything you need.
Been thinking about buying a low rider s. Still got to sell my 1200 had a car pull out in front of me fishtail bit off the road broke my hand wrist and thumb have pins in
I've got a 2015 road glide special completely paid for, Thunderheader pipes, retuned, Paul yaffee 14" monkey bars Mustang seat, clockworks wind shield, ETC, ETC..... I would love to have the low rider $, but I just can't justify trading it in getting shit for the trade 15k if I'm absolutely lucky and still having to pay 5k when I already put 30k into this 15 road glide.(with all mods)
Seriously!? In no way does this bike pale in comparison to cheaper options, it exceeds in every way. The new LRS is an absolute beast. Stock, i shit on a stage 1 Dyna LRS. After swapping bikes from a dyna, the 2020 Low rider S killed in the corners and straights. The price was about the same as my Dyna LRS and it was absolutely worth every penny. I'll update my thoughts after the stage 1 and dyno. Love your channel bro, keep em coming! Not bashing your opinion, i just disagree with your closing statement.
No worries. I hear where you're coming from. That statement was in reference to non harley fans who argue that you can get a lot more performance out of less expensive bikes such as super sports, street fighters, sport tourers, and even other performance cruisers etc. Obviously very different bikes, but from a performance aspect, they're technically right. I'm a fan of the new softail/m8 myself.
Thanks, brotha! The bags are deviant fabrications. Tell him Jon's moto garage sent you if you hit him up. Here's a vid I did with a walk around/parts breakdown. th-cam.com/video/tMM_oObF5Ww/w-d-xo.html
Yooo i was laughing when u said you take the Honda cuz i thought u was kidding but then.... you got me on that one buddy I don't know exactly why but the new Low rider S didn't catch my eye. When i first saw the Dyna low rider S i was / and still am like yooo i gotta have that bike seeing the new Low rider and the hype i was like hell yeah man now maybe the price for a Dyna Low rider S will go down a little haha
Bikes dope, not a big fan of the fairing, bags and handle bars but other than that the bikes nice asf I’m more into the 70’s bobber look. Nothing a couple of mods can fix though.
On the fxdls or the street bob? I dig em both. Personally, I'm a fan of the risers/moto bar combo. Both sets are a bit tall for me at 5'8". Someday I may change to 8" risers, but these work for now.
Imo the old 16/17 LRS looks way more outlaw with a clear nod to the 70's. I think it's simply more badass. The 2020 one looks less agressive and somehow the design is less brutal, much more streamlined, kinda family friendly, more comfortable for the rider. I'm sure it handles better, smoother, has more torque. And I guess a couple of mods can bring it back to being cool. For me the true spirit is with the 16/17 Dyna LRS.
I know what you mean with the overall style. I think once they get into the hands of some master builders, we'll see some examples of how they should look. I've seen some pretty rad softails out there that almost had me fooled for dynas. Lol.
I traded my LowRiderS, my Dealer, gave me $15.5 for mine. , Then I got my FXDR.🇺🇸👍 The 110 just ran too Hot, and the old frame will never handle like an FXDR. , then he sold my S for 18k, it worked out for everyone 👍
The new one looks really nice! But however... Who can afford it? Just like you said: better whait a couple of years so someone else get the price drop👍 Non the less.. I think you can change the "headlight shield?" To one with same style as the new one, then you'r good to go! (But that's just My opinion, i totaly understand that the big one is better to ride behind 😂 ) A Early celibration for you having 13000 sub's!! (Only 50 under) 💢💥🎶🤘🍻
Great video as usual Jon. I like the passion you bring to motorcycling. I will keep my bastard Victory Vegas and pass on the new Low Rider. Nice looking bike though.
Meh.......Imma stick to my built FXDX. I originally bought my first Dyna back in 06 just because I like the dual shock look. I never liked the softail chassis.
Good video as always man . Now the new lowrider , ya its sweet looking but I'm not looking for another bike now. The fat Bob does look good but them big tires I dont agree with . I ride a 1982 lowrider and not everyone want to bother with. A shovelhead but I sure do . My newest bike is a 2016 breakout and I wouldn't part with my harleys for any new Harley.
Word. There's a chance I decide to sell it, but wouldn't be to get a softail. I may free up some capital here soon to invest elsewhere. Shoot me an email: jonsmotogarage@gmail.com if seriously interested and I'll save your info.
I was all about doing this video on the grom I was almost a little sad when you switched to the lowrider S but it's a sweet bike so it worked out in the end.
To me, the new Softail build quality seems cheaply made. I looked at a Streetbob today and it doesn't look as good quality as a Dyna. Finish isn't as good either. Price is up there, though. The Dyna Lowrider S looks WAY better than the new Softail version.
It's awesome they brought the LowRider S back. It's gonna make harley a really nice wad of cash. I wont be buying one simply because Harley already released the bike I want, so it really doesnt fit me. But still happy the brought it back because the longer harley is around the longer there's parts to keep the bike I want on the road.

Yeah the commercial was aimed to old guys. Even though the bike is obviously for younger people. Well we're in our 30s now. So maybe not so young anymore. Kids(20s) probably still prefer the fat bob. And the 114 not being special. You're right. They could of atleast put different cams to boost it a little. I held back on buying a street bob hoping they'd either put a. Bigger tank or engine. This bike answered both. And i am reallllly hoping to get it next season. But youre right about the kinks being worked out. So i dont know. Maybe some rich bastard will buy it for the winter... put a few miles... and sell it at a lower price. Ha
Harley should prolly stop the following models: delux breakout fat bob, slim, fxdrs, sport glide and low rider. Only keep street bob, heritage, fat boy and low rider s. Offer kits and parts to modify these bikes.
That's pretty much what they do now, they offer all the parts the bike should come with stock in the Screamin Eagle catalog. It really is a good marketing plan and it works really for them.

Thanks, brotha! Now that's a line up I could dig! I've yet to ride a speed triple but hear it's an awesome machine!
PMD_in_AZ I’m tossing around the Speed and Low Rider. I know they’re different but I like em both so it’s as simple as that. I don’t know what to get.
I want the new heritage 114. Done with bmws looking to get into harleys
Jon's Moto Garage so true. Love the channel bro keep it up !
@Nightraid yourface think that's bad? Go try and purchase a new CVO and see if they don't try and make you pay $3-4000 over MSRP.
My fave parts are:
Jon, what windshield ur running on the dyna?! Looks neat!!! Keep the videos and the wheelies coming !!!
Thanks, brotha! I did a walk around vid of my low rider s.Search "dyna low rider s walk around parts break down" and you should be able to find it. I bought the bike as is and always forget the front fairing brand. Lol.
Good solid review. Nice anticipation on potential impacts to other Harley bikes.
Thanks, brotha!
Should probably shift a bit sooner for faster take off, Harleys don't rev very high even with the cams
I'll figure it out eventually. Hahaha! Thanks for the tip!
From where I can buy those hard saddlebags you have in your Low Rider S?
Hit up deviant fabrications website or on Instagram. Tell him Jon's moto garage sent you.
What saddle bags you rocking?
deviant fabrications defender bags
If you want inverted forks and dual front brakes on a dyna look into Corsair Inverted Front End Kits by Gigacycle Garage. They are completely bolt on kits with everything you need.
Thanks for the info!
I just turned down the 2020 lowrider for a 2019 repo that just came in. It was under warranty and set up just how I wanted it. Nice ride.
You got a nice bike. I bought a S yesterday, the stock suspension is very good.
Nice! Congrats on the new ride!
To your point about dyna lrs prices coming down, 2 years later, the ones I’ve seen at dealerships have still been in the 16k-17k range lol
Yeah, prices dipped for a bit there but just about everything has come up since covid hit.
Been thinking about buying a low rider s. Still got to sell my 1200 had a car pull out in front of me fishtail bit off the road broke my hand wrist and thumb have pins in
Dang cagers! Hope you have a swift recovery.
Yeah, I hear ya! I'd hang onto the road glide myself. That's one I hope to get one day.
Love the video
Yo! Just finished a ride on the grom - shout out coming your way!
Sick vid bro
Thanks, brotha!
Ok, got cha. Yea, this M8 LRS is a beast, i can't wait to get these break in miles knocked out, it's the worst part about new bikes.
To me there is something not right about a low rider not being a dyna but I think HD eliminating the dyna line was a big mistake imho
I know what you mean and I think lots of people are right there with you. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds in store.
Great video! And that bag setup on your ride is dope! Where did you get it with the bars and all?
Thanks, brotha! The bags are deviant fabrications. Tell him Jon's moto garage sent you if you hit him up. Here's a vid I did with a walk around/parts breakdown. th-cam.com/video/tMM_oObF5Ww/w-d-xo.html
Yooo i was laughing when u said you take the Honda cuz i thought u was kidding but then.... you got me on that one buddy
I don't know exactly why but the new Low rider S didn't catch my eye. When i first saw the Dyna low rider S i was / and still am like yooo i gotta have that bike seeing the new Low rider and the hype i was like hell yeah man now maybe the price for a Dyna Low rider S will go down a little haha
Hahaha! Yeah, I know what you're talking about. And yeah, now's your chance to get the og fxdls at a realistic price. Lol
Great content! Ride safe!
What fairing is on your Low Rider S?
Here's a vid I did with a complete walk around/parts breakdown: th-cam.com/video/tMM_oObF5Ww/w-d-xo.html
I always forget the fairing brand. Lol.
Bikes dope, not a big fan of the fairing, bags and handle bars but other than that the bikes nice asf
I’m more into the 70’s bobber look. Nothing a couple of mods can fix though.
Great review,,, do you have a tuner on your low rider?
The 2020 Lowrider S is a beautiful bike but I love my dyna FXDC way to much. I'd have to say if someone gave me one I wouldn't cry about it😂.
Hahaha! Well said!
I’ll be honest I’ve wanted a Lowrider S since the first one came out. Hope to afford one someday.
This Bike is a Legend in the Making!!!
Jon, Great video. How is the Low Rider S in a straight away at High(er) speeds?
I'm about to sell my bitcoins right now just to buy this motorcycle!!
Hahaha!
Bitcoin(s)? You have more than one?
@@zacknicley8150 yes been involved since the end of 2009
Your takeoff is fine I say just drop the clutch a little more makes it look a little cooler
For sure! A bit more practice for sure.
On your other dyna how do you like those bars? I’m looking at getting 14inc
Lol.
I can't say I'm not interested in the S but like you, I have to much into my 2018 Low Rider.
I have it the way I want it and I can't give her up now.
For sure! Maybe someday, but not today.
I traded my LowRiderS, my Dealer, gave me $15.5 for mine. , Then I got my FXDR.🇺🇸👍
The 110 just ran too Hot, and the old frame will never handle like an FXDR. , then he sold my S for 18k, it worked out for everyone 👍
I hear ya! Win-win for all!
Good video,,, can you make one with the 120 R? Greetings
Thanks, brotha! What's the 120 R? I'll have to look into it.
@@JonsMotoGarage that is the 120 R harley davidson crate engine
The new one looks really nice!
But however... Who can afford it? Just like you said: better whait a couple of years so someone else get the price drop👍
Non the less.. I think you can change the "headlight shield?" To one with same style as the new one, then you'r good to go!
(But that's just My opinion, i totaly understand that the big one is better to ride behind 😂 )
A Early celibration for you having 13000 sub's!! (Only 50 under) 💢💥🎶🤘🍻
I hear ya there! 13k, here we come! Hahaha!
Jon, so you are definitely keeping this low rider s??
Not necessarily. But if I end up selling it in the future, it won't be to immediately get a new one. For now, I'm enjoying it though. Lol.
@@JonsMotoGarage cool
How do u afford all those bikes
The new one is faster and looks waaay better.
The day I can afford one, I'm buying without hesitation.
Great video as usual Jon. I like the passion you bring to motorcycling. I will keep my bastard Victory Vegas and pass on the new Low Rider. Nice looking bike though.
Thanks, brotha! Yeah, that victory will keep the smile on your face without breaking the bank. Lol.
Meh.......Imma stick to my built FXDX. I originally bought my first Dyna back in 06 just because I like the dual shock look. I never liked the softail chassis.
Yeah, the dual shocks look the best imo.
I think the 2020 FXDLS is so great because it comes closer to a modified bike off the floor.
Exactly! Definitelt a rad option!
There's no 2020 FXDLS.
Heck yeah! Tons of good options. I figure I'll get one in a few years.
If you ever change your mind I might have to make the trip from Oklahoma to get your old dyna!
I hear ya! No worries though. I just got back from doing a grom vid. Should be out in next few days. The grom never gets old.
To me, the new Softail build quality seems cheaply made. I looked at a Streetbob today and it doesn't look as good quality as a Dyna. Finish isn't as good either. Price is up there, though. The Dyna Lowrider S looks WAY better than the new Softail version.
WHAT?? It's the best chassis they have ever made. You're clearly a Dyna fanboy.
Great outlook! I'm stoked to see what the future holds in store.
still too soft on the dump clutch and rev down but hey there is ligth at the end of the tunnel lol i find it so funny that you wheelie those big ol lump of iron but in someway so scared of traction loss at lauch haha
Lol. Just a matter of practice. The wheelie is much easier. Hahaha!
@@JonsMotoGarage its a process bro, together we can do it! take my hand, we will cry together now LMAO. oh and good vid, fuck buying that at the premium price, 10 months old used one will be THOUSANDS cheapers
@@ragimundvonwallat8961 lmao! Show me the way of the drag race! Hahaha!
all this complaining about no 117... its got a 114 already! I have a slim with a 107 and it has tons of power. I think the bike is awesome. Yes i was a dyna guy too but the M8 is a great motor and the new frame works really well.
No doubt it'll be a blast to ride!
The Dyna LRS's look better. The used ones are still close in price to the new softail ones. Seems a little weird to me but the Dyna is a classic.
I agree with you 100% on not buying it. They do look nice. But ill stick with my XR1200. Has it all much better handling and you never see them! 👊✊
Heck yeah! The xr1200 is wicked rare!
You live in Vegas? Thats litttt
What state are you from?
State 48! (Arizona:)
Good call man. Just wait it out. However I'm loving the ride of my softail
For sure! The softails are rad bikes!
If i had all the setup on my fxdx like you do on your dyna..i wouldnt want to buy either, i mean..start from 0 again..? They say the new fxs low rider handles better from stock..no classic dyna wobbles. i dont know...thats what ppl say. But u have one pretty dyna there man..nice
Its a fatbob 114 with a lowrider or sport glide rear fender and a skinny 19" front wheel and low rider tank
I know because i built one
Nice! Yeah, I had heard of lots of people doing just that. Sounds like you've got a rad ride!
@@JonsMotoGarage
Ya i 2019 fxfb "s" 114
I put the 2018 low rider or sport glide rear fender and struts , corbin widowmaker dimond gold stich seat , bassani road rage pipe, 14" west cost mx bars ,cruse controll ,and doing a full s&s cam chest maybe do a 124 on it.
I really wanted people to see the fat bobs true potential and was trying to start a channel and still am just got sidetracked lol I'm happy the lowrider s came out with the new version so people could really understand and appreciate how great this like really is
get rid of the tank speedo , wish Harley would bring out a flat tracker or scrambler
The New Rider S is rad! They can’t get crazy riding footage for legal reasons 🤙😎
Lol. Yeah, dang legal stuff.hahah! I agree though - looks pretty rad!
Ha
Hahaha! If you're patient, I'm sure you can pick one up used in a yr with only a few miles. Hahaha. Welk said!
***SPOILER ALERT***
I’m not buying the 2020 “Low Rider S” because it’s a transgender motorcycle.
I'm here for the people who are triggered. Popcorn ready
🤭
It is insane expensive in Norway we must pay about 39948 US dollars lol
You should team up with unknown industries.I had the same exact bike as nick.A 1985 fxrs lowrider.I had a dyna also I really loved my fxrs more.
That would be rad. Shame I'm nowhere near their level. Lol. Maybe some day. I'd love to get an fxr someday down the road. I hear they're the ultimate!
From some of the wheelies I watched you do I would say you could definitely ride with them.
Haven't checked nthe new models out yet, probably sticking with the switchback
Yeah, whenever new models come out, I tell myself I can get one 5 yrs down the road.Hahaha!
Harley should prolly stop the following models: delux breakout fat bob, slim, fxdrs, sport glide and low rider. Only keep street bob, heritage, fat boy and low rider s. Offer kits and parts to modify these bikes.
Lol. Yeah, they offer a lot of bikes that are basically the same thing with different trims.
You stopped all of the good models.
That's pretty much what they do now, they offer all the parts the bike should come with stock in the Screamin Eagle catalog. It really is a good marketing plan and it works really for them.
I'll wait 2 or 3 years for a used one! Meanwhile, I have two FXR's...
Hahah! Same here!
Still trying to figure out the hype behind the fxrs.......
and please, KEEP them !
Hehe got rid of my Dyna just in time feelin like a Boss today. I think your right but I dig my bob an i like them fat tires well not the stock meats its not a enduro bike but thats preference. I also like the sport glide its a great bike but think Fat bob an Sport Glide will be dropped
Lol. For reals! First thing I thought was "dang, there goes any chance of getting my money out of the low rider!" Hahaha! I dig the fat bob as well.
