    Father Lazarus is truly a unrecognized spiritual philosopher in the world.
    I have watched him for over a decade now, and i have never failed to get something from his talks no matter the duration of his message.
    He has lived both sides of this world and knows it to the core. He understands it, and his manner in which he relates his thoughts is truly a lost art.
    May God Bless and Keep Him Strong.
    Let us see more of him unabridged.

    Father Lazarus once said on a biographical interview " I was not a good missionary" - But I can tell you, this man has done more for my spirit and faith only fourth to God, Jesus and the holy spirit. Thank you father. Your teachings and advice is with me in my dreams.

    FATHER LAZAROS, please write a book ( autobiography and about how u see life ).
    The Orthodox church in the whole world and people as the whole, they need it.
    Your book would be an eye-opner to people, for many many years to come.

      We have the internet but if that goes down we'd lose the blessings that come through him,many outside of Egypt could benefit, but I suspect hed suggest to read the early fathers

    I'm looking make the switch to orthodoxy this summer, I really enjoy father Lazarus videos and reading the desert fathers, which is why i wanted to join a Coptic Church, but alot of people keep telling me not to because copts are heretics and monophysites, whatever that means. Still need to research on that topic. Kinda makes me sad because i was really set on Coptic Orthodoxy.

    • @MrAbc54321
      @MrAbc54321 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It is a lie to say copts are Monophysites who deny the humanity of Christ. go back to the minutes of the council of Chalcedon to see it for yourself instead of talking about something someone else wrote. the coptic church condemned Eutychus and Nestor over the centuries and recently it signed a joint statement with the Eastern Orthodox Church representatives and there is another one with the late pope John Paul , again you can look it up for yourself instead of someone else telling their point of view. And as Christ mentioned” from their fruit you shall know them” and the fruit of any church is the liturgical prayers - which you can google for yourself-and the liturgy of the coptic church clearly confesses that in Christ his humanity and divinity united without separation, mingling nor confusion. The history tells us about the dealing of the Byzantine empire with the copts and the persecution that fell on the copts to the point they welcomed the Arabs!!!, unfortunately the church and the state were in bed through out the Byzantine history, did it cross your mind once why did the emperors called for the councils and sometimes attend, This is a clear violation of what Christ said is to give to God what is God’s and to Give to Caesar what is his. Unity is important and because of the disunity the Muslims took over half of the Roman Empire and in these days without unity the Antichrist will deceive too many. The 2 terms on dispute are Monophysite which the Eastern accuse the copts vs Miaphysite which the copts claim after bishop Severus of Antioch writings, those are two different terms and reading it in context will give clarity to it. May the Lord bless all and pray for true unity.

      @@MrAbc54321 so what would be pros vs cons on joining the Eastern vs Oriental ? I'm neither neither greek, russian or egyptian

    • @MrAbc54321
      @MrAbc54321 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the jurisdiction doesn’t matter, for me going to a church that prays in a language I understand matters and there are coptic churches and Other orthodox churches that do so, but the most important is a church that will help me to grow spiritually not grow to be a different nationality, where do you live? I might have some church recommendations that you can go and check it out for yourself.

    • @Silvartful
      @Silvartful 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. The eastern orthodox church is wrong about oriental orthodox church's beliefs. We do believe in the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ.

    • @yousefsalib7609
      @yousefsalib7609 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if OO are Monophysites then so are the consensus of the Greek fathers tbf
      St. Cyril, “*the duality has been abolished and we believe the Son’s nature to be one,*
      since he is one Son, yet become man and incarnate” (Ep. 40, to Acacius of Melitene,
      > "Wherefore, **we say that the two natures were united**, from which there is the one and only Son and Lord, Jesus Christ, **as we accept in our thoughts; but after the union, since **__the distinction into two is now done away with__****, we believe that **__there is one nature of the Son__**."
      - St Cyril, Letter to Acacius
      > "This objection is yet another attack on those who say that **there is one incarnate nature of the Son**. They want to show that the idea is foolish and so **they keep on arguing at every turn **__that two natures endured__****. They have forgotten, **however, that it is only those things that are usually distinguished at more than a merely theoretical level** which split apart from one another in differentiated separateness and radical distinction. Let us once more take the example of an ordinary man. We recognize two natures in him; for there is one nature of the soul and another of the body, but we divide them only at a theoretical level, and by subtle speculation, or rather we accept the distinction only in our mental intuitions, and we do not set the natures apart nor do we grant that they have a radical separateness, but we understand them to belong to one man. This is why **__the two are no longer two__**, but through both of them **the one living creature is rendered complete**."
      - St Cyril, Second Letter to Succensus
      > For God and Man are two natures, as also soul and body are; but there are not two Sons or two Gods. For neither in this life are there two manhoods; though Paul speaks in some such language of the inner and outer man. And (if I am to speak concisely) the Saviour is made of elements which are distinct from one another (for the invisible is not the same with the visible, nor the timeless with that which is subject to time), yet He is not two Persons. God forbid! **For both [natures] are one by the combination** (τά γάρ ἀμφότερα ἕν τῇ συγκράσει), the Deity being made Man, and the Manhood deified or however one should express it. And I say different Elements, because it is the reverse of what is the case in the Trinity; for There we acknowledge different Persons so as not to confound the persons; but not different Elements, for the Three are One and the same in Godhead.
      St. Gregory of Nazianzus, To Cledonius the Priest Against Apollinarius (Epistle 101)
      As a result, Christ, composed of both natures, became mediator between God and humanity [1 Tim 2.5]. May he be conceived of as sole Son of God and believed in at every moment and in every place and through every powerful act and deed, in accordance with Holy Scripture. To Christ be the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
      (On the Incarnation: Saint Mark the ascetic, Mark's "Doctrinal Treatise")

    Why did Fr Lazarus become a Coptic monk when he was already baptised in the Serbian Orthodox Church and then was tonsured a monk as Father Gregory in the Serbian Orthodox Church and lived in Serbian monasteries in Australia and Serbia and also for a time on holy Mount Athos at the monastery of Philotheou which was under the spiritual eldership of Father Ephraim, disciple of St Joseph the Hesychast???
