My father did this work for all 25 years of his life after going into the mine at The age of 15. I was 5 when he died of black lung disease. However I remember the night his lungs burst forth with blood and he choked to death on his own blood while loading coal from the coal bin to our furnace , one very cold December night. I for one curse the mining of coal from the bowels of the earth.
