Had one of these. Bought it as a five year old car in 1989. Absolutely loved it. I always found when motoring journalists hated something, i loved it. Thought the dashboard was cool, as were the seats. Their value fell like a stone, I paid 300 Irish pounds for mine! Thanks for doing this one, made me wish i had the old Trevi back.
I can KIND of see a late 70's/early 80's Audi in it (especially in the headlights) & it looks like the same front doors were used for the Fiat 132/Argenta! Inside; the dashboard reminds me of one that wouldn't look out of place in a Saab...
Oh the memories travelling around in the many Lancia cars my Aunt and Uncle had. The picture with the Beta Coupe, Volumex and Delta at the start were three of the models they had over the years. The Delta HF they had was my favourite and it also was sadly the last they had. Sadly a Trevi was never one they had Another great review Stephen. Not sure if you considered Patrion at all but I for one would gladly support your efforts..
It looks a bit like a Volvo 200 series from the front. It's a nice brochure with good quality photography and I note they stick with the same colour throughout. I don't like the dashboard - I think the radio is badly integrated into the design. I bet that's a rare brochure. I've got a lancia range poster from the same period. Good vid.
Also had one from Feb. 1989 until Jan. 2000:.. learned everything about cars from that experience. Handling was what you‘d expect from a Beta i.e. nimble and thus very reassuring. Quality was everything else but reassuring and so scrapped it out of frustration. Today, I‘d be more industrious and would keep it on the road since it was basically a quite simple car. But, alas, I found something better: a classic Japanese car,
The dashboard is very Saab-like. It looks easy to clean. I quite like it as well, the recessed instrument dials look very clear and easy to read, and quite modern I dare say. I don't think that I would specify the radio, only because it just looks a bit out of place against the circular dashboard theme. I think I've only ever seen one Trevi in the flesh. I don't know which version it was but it was light metallic blue and was stagnating at the top of someone's driveway. It was about eight years old at the time (around 1990). I went past it some five years later and there was a cover over it this time so it probably ended up quite rotten.
Out of the cars in the test, I would pick the Citroen CX, after saving a few pennies to buy the seven-seater Safari Familiale version. This brochure states that alloy wheels and electric windows were standard on the 2.0 version of the Trevi. There seemed to be no image of the 1.6 so we couldn't see what the base model Trevi would look like with steel wheels/trims and window winders. There was no colour chart either. They must have done them in other colours besides gold, silver and blue.
I do not think it was right for motoring journalists to make comparisons. Why couldn't they just do a report on a car? I think I would have chosen the Citroen CX too.
It wasn't popular in Italy too! The styling was weird, the design and the quality of the interior was awful. At least in Italy, the only redeeming feature was the availabiliy of the Volumex version (1983-1984) with a Rootes blower that brought the power of the 2l engine up to 135 bhp.
The dashboard looks like the dashboard in the Alfa 90. Why did people listen to motoring journalists? They were often spoilt brats of rich parents unrepresentative of the general public.

Nice to hear from someone who had one.
Lancia is top Italian car manufacturers in Italy, has 6 manufacturers championships titles in world rally championships.
I love the car, especially the interior. The dashboard reminds me a bit of the 2001 Iveco Daily dashboard.
Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment - all the best.

Thank you - it’s an unusual design I see a few cars in it but then I don’t.

No doubt rotten sadly.
