Merry Christmas! Man, the NASCAR on that first game was more like a Merry Go Round with how many times everyone rotated. Great calls with coordinated pinpoint PPC shots saved the day though.

All those Unseen Mechs were part of the Robotech Universe. I was lucky to have the original Tech Manual for board version of Battletech. They had the LAMs. After the lawsuit LAMs were removed.
Not all of the unseen were originally from Macross. Locust was from some very obscure manga. Locust IIC and Jenner IIC another source. And Harmony Gold also claimed several as looking like their IP. Sarna.net has all the details.
Basically FASA as they were used images from several Japanese Animation series without a valid license. Macross original series for the Marauder, and Ost mechs. Also Crusader, Wasp, Stinger, Phoenix Hawk, Archer, Warhammer, Rifleman, Longbow, and Valkyrie. Also from Sun Fang Dougram the Thunderbolt, Battlemaster, Wolverine, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Scorpion, and Goliath. Also from Crusher Joe for the Locust, Galleon, and Leopard. Possibly more from each. But that caused the breach. A shame really cos the those designs were brilliant models and available from kit manufacturers in plastic from each series! I got a few but never got many. Tech Readout 3025 Original Book of mine got so well thumbed by myself and friends it fell apart! I got 2 more copies over the years in much better condition but with different printing mistakes in each copy lke mech pics swapped on the Ossol and and Ostscout then stats being mixed up too! FASA were famous for having the typos in virtually everything and looked like bad proof reading.
I've seen 1B's running with an LPL for people who prefer to just stay in all-guns range... it has an extra JJ and 16 DHS vs. Baradul's snipish HPPC version here. Alternatively, an HPPC + LPPC (13 DHS) in the right arm so everything converges on one 20-point hit, but at that point you have to stay back lest you get zero damage shots up close.
Curse you, Harmony Gold! We resist you unto our dying breath! The 14 original box-set battlemechs for the win! (well... minus the 2 not in the game...) [16/4 if you count the Merlin and the Chameleon... which no one does. =) ]

Do you recommend lowering the speed for more weapons on this mech? I have a build with 6 ER Med Lasers, and can go 120kph+ with it, but no matter how hard I fight, it feels like I'm doing nothing.
Harmony Gold, Big West, Hasbro, Bandai, Matchbox, FASA, etc. All have had their hands in the Macross/Robotech Honeypot. The Copyright Licensing of that franchise in the west is a total shit show. Macross is still a thriving franchise in Japan but Harmony Gold wont allow anything to do with it to be imported into the U.S. because of their fucking precious 'Robotech' ripoff.

But they're back, just with new artwork. (Although plenty of people have been using the new Robotech minis to get the oldschool feel.)
