@@march9215 because it's an outlet. A lot of depression comes from not having n outlet for emotions you bottle up.
In the old days we just worked really hard, at the end of the day too tired to be depressed lol.
I got rid of depression by getting high fructose corn syrup out of my diet!!

Learning music theory is a great leap for me sa pag gigitara. Confusing talaga sa una mong salang sa pag aaral non, pero balik balikan mo lang talaga yung mga tutorial hanggang mag sink sa utak and iapply yung mga bits na natututunan sa theory.

same here bro. almost a week and I already know how to play Hindi Na Nga by This Band. I find that song easy to play coz it only has 4 chords plus the chords are near with each other so my finger didn't need to stretch or switch from one chord to another as far as the other song's chord.

My 1st song I learn to play on a guitar was "line to heaven" by introboys on 1996 high school.. with my Gibson j45, a bday gift from my lolo.. I just know it was a 1942 Gibson j45 because I still have a photograph of it.. during those high school days there's no Internet.. I know nothing about guitar brands.. I let my cousin's borrow it till the neck breaks and freeboards split.. I really regret specially the sentimental value from my lolo..😮
I'm an introvert tho and I don't even have a single friend in my hometown, I wish I had friend's to jam with and there's really LOT'S OF LOT'S of distraction such as online games, hope I can reunite myself with music again. By the way good advice sir perf such nice words🙏

Share ko lang:
1. Nag-aral ako mag-gitara nung high school '95-'96.
2. E-Heads & Rivermaya mga sikat nun.
3. Meron akong mga songhits (HOTHITS to be specific). Yung centerfold ay Chord Chart.
4. Pag merong may alam tumugtog nung song na gusto ko, nagpapaturo ako.
5. Hirap ako dati sa C kasi malalayo yung daliri. Tapos iniiwasan ko tugtugin yung mga kantang may F, B, F#, Bb, C#... and so on kasi masakit sa kamay!

same with me..and i regret why i didnt persevere back then on playing guitar..its hard if u dont have ur own instrument and had 2 borrowed to neighbors/friends.. and 2 top it all schools...and later yrs ur starting 2 work..urggghhhh lame excuses i know..but now i want 2 learn again and planning 2 buy my own guitar..i have missed out alot of songs over the yrs that has been out and jus recently found/heard them out and im so excited to play them..i just hope its not too late for me to learn again😊😊😊

Tama ka sir Perf, sa pag aaral ng mga kanta ako natuto maggitara, the more kanta inaaral ko mas nadadagdagan yung chords na alam ko. Later on, natuto na ako mag pluck and fingerstyle na rin. Nung mag senior high ako dun ako mag start mag banda and ayun, naiwan ko na ang fingerstyle. Riffs is life na. haha Yan din sinasabi ko sa mga nagtatanong kung paano daw ako natuto tumugtog ng gitara at kung ano daw gagawin nila para matuto, practice lang ng mga kanta na gusto nilang tugtugin at kantahin.

My mom gave me my first ever and only guitar as a bday gift (10 y.o) I'm about to turn 20 in a few days, and I just started to learn how to play for real. No more running away (from kalyo and sakit ng daliri/kamay) I've been wanting to learn since forever, hope i won't give up this time around hehe. 💙

Sumasama po ako sa mga gig noon pinaka napanood ko si Sir Arnold ng Sampaguita nakasama at napanood ko sila isang buong hapon na practice. Binalikan ko lang nagstop ako before nag seryoso sa pagaaral then diretcho trabaho agad. Salamat sa advice master perf much appreciated. I started with the piano and i find it hard to transition to the music theory on the guitar. I like playing the guitar for enjoyment and use tabs to play fingerpicking songs I really find beautiful. Even though I'm far from playing professionally, it's hard not to feel insecure for not knowing the notes or how to freestyle licks and all that stuff. So thank you for the advice, sir! I'll just keep on playing more songs and exposing myself to new styles so I can become more comfortable. Maybe then the theory will become a bit easier to grasp.
Mas naka relate ako sa advice number 2 mo sir, when I was just starting and want to learn more talagang nag focus ako sa music theory na naging dahilan kung bakit tinamad na rin ako mag gitara and that time I have no idea on how do I apply it by my own, But then nakita ko itong channel niyo sir and it really helps me. First! Thanks I really needed it!
I'd say for new and older players
1. Don't stop learning songs
2. Dont stop writing new songs
3. Experiment with other instruments
4. Never fall oit of love with music
Figure out new ways to fall in love with music in general. I was not feeling it for years and looped myself back in with researching and learning new types of instruments and looking at all sorts of documentaries about music history in general, about anything. Discovering new styles, genres and bands also helps alot. Become a crate digger of sorts. Just make a point to fall in love with music overall. Mother Love Bone "Man of Golden Words" right?

Tama yon Sir, when i was starting i learn all Beatles Songs, Eheads, Maya, PnE for Songhits. Tinutugtog ko kahit ang hirap sa kamay lalo na yung Beatles, daming augmented, 6th, 9th, diminshed pero worth it. Sisiw na ibang chords pag galing ka sa Beatles.

Tama si sir perf, specially sa #1. For lead guitarists outhere, you should learn more songs na rythm based than lead based or solos and licks only. In the end, yung mga kabarkada mo rin yung sasaya pag nasa inuman kayo haha. Magaling ka nga sa licks pero di mo napapakanta yung audience mo kasi di mo kabisado yung chords haha.

Music theory can be down right tedious if you let it be. What I do is to mix my guitar sessions. Playing guitar, learning fast picking and fingering, learning scales/guitar progressions, composing stupid simple songs, etc so that I don't get bored.
