He could well be responsible if he lied originally, that he didn't know certain things about his sons job or even talk to him about it. Of course he knew. I so appreciate what Tyrus said about Biden being a bad parent. I have had countless arguments with liberal friends (who aren't really friends at this point) about Hunter Biden's addictions and how Joe Biden is responsible for them. Their fallback is always, 1. Hunter is an adult and can make his own choices, and 2. I shouldn't judge addicts. This of course completely misses my point. If you have a child who is an addict and your family is flush with cash, *you send him to rehab as many times as it takes for him to get clean.* You do *not* fly him to China to cut deals that will have him swimming in money so he can continue to buy enough crack to choke a rhinoceros, or get him sweet backroom deals with Ukrainian energy companies that will pay him tens of thousands of dollars a month with which to support his habit. That is not what a *GOOD* parent does with a child who is an addict.
To the parental (role specific) point, I don’t think people (wealthy or poor; white or of color; dumb or smart) of that generation 75+ were EVER taught in school or society that this (i.e., addiction, mental deterioration from said addiction, or mental illness generally) was an addressable issue. Avoiding the stigma at all costs was priority. So obviously Hunter had only had poor routes to take. He had a choice, but the choice was almost entirely predestined.
