This is near the village of Tanjantenna. Laypeople often come to the main monastery. This particular monastery is focused on providing monks the opportunity to practice in solitude. Other monasteries may be more focused giving teachings.
I like this kind of simly living monks. Luxury living tibetan monks are not real buddhist monk. This comment is from the land of lord buddha Nepal south asia.
It is true, Sri Lankan people respect the forest and are reluctant to cut down large areas like they have done in Thailand.
