How do I make the wave disappear into the distance? That is large one side and to a point ...like a wave that you are looking along....think space based solar
It's because with vector layers, AE applies the effect as if the layered were the size of the comp. To get around this, precomp the text, crop it to the text, then apply the effect.
Hey I tried to work with this effect and found that it affects shape and layer of AI differently, how can it have the same effect on shape layer ? I tried to add the expression value + toComp ([0,0]) but it did not help 🙏🏼
You're right, it does. Search TH-cam for squash and stretch rig by school of motion (I made the tutorial) and you'll learn how to handle the warp effect. Essentially you'll have to precompose the text or shape layer and crop the comp to the size of the layer prior to adding the warp effect.

Also keep in mind that this effect does not work correctly on shape layers, or Illustrator layers with continuous rasterization.
