I personally live vicariously through you, RGL, KC and a few others that actually know what their doing and talking about. Knowledge of the hobby is second to none!!! I've opened 10 blasters to this point from target, and the average parallels per box was 6.7. Two mother's days and an SSP is not bad. My only major issue at this point is collation with base cards. Still 5-10 cards away from just a single initial set from 10 blasters and 2 hobbys.
Had my first rip of 2 update display boxes. Blue black gold Jackie Robinson. PP2 Judge, Sheehan Rookie relic, and a fathers day. Ps those ASG cards have a weird sheeen to them if you look close.

Haven't ripped any retail yet but I did get my hands on six fanatics blaster's. Excited for that rip. My one jumbo had two auto's and three relics 🤯 Is that a thing lol? Love some update!
I think Fanatics is finally figuring out how to drive demand for retail. They made such a blunder with 2023 Series 1 and have been slowly correcting it since then. They increased the checklist which inherently increases the parallels, while also introducing even more parallel types so the perceived value has risen dramatically. I wonder if Platinum Anniversary was a bit of an experiment to see what affect having increased parallels would do.

Would really like to find some at retail, I have 3 Targets in a 30-40 min radius from my house and I'm checking everyday but they must have a trash vendor because those shelves are real bare when it comes to any kind of cards and have been for months. Hobby and Jumbo are too high to buy a lot of after pre-order. I had one Hobby box that I pre-ordered and so far bought two over priced blasters at my LCS. I'm still hunting for the retail.

Check online, I haven’t found any at my targets but got some from online. Pulled the 3 Jackson’s and Skenes, ghost and Jack o lanterns plus a numbered all in one box. Definitely should get them
@@GoHornets I actually found some. I stopped in yesterday to one Target close to my house and they were stocking the shelves. Snagged a blaster and 3 fat packs. So they are finally showing up out there. Still no Skenes base for me, did get the RD version. Fat packs were hot for sure: Shohei Black Gold, Papi Black Autumn Tales /299, Green Crackle Skenes-Grandal and Golden Mirror J.D. Davis. Blaster was base Halloween(no one special), Retail Blue Gavin Williams RD, Foil Rafaela RD, Skenes ASG, Hank Aaron Black Gold, Elly All Class, and Robbie Ray 69/76 Independence Day. So the retail has some heat coming out.

Swear to god if they're charging $40 for a blaster, I'm going to say "to hell with it" and buy a Sterling mini box or something instead. I'll consider $40 for Chrome, but paper? gtfo. Incidentally, your theory that boxes seem more loaded than they should reminds me of the last Stadium Club release, and how good those blasters were. At least, they were good for, like, the first wave of blasters, then everything after were dry as hell. Probably just random... then again, it wouldn't really shock me if there's some front-loading of hits in some of these releases so they look great at launch. (I don't really believe that, but I also don't really believe that Topps has the ability to shift the good rookie parallels to hobby formats lol; but just believe I don't believe doesn't mean I don't think my limited perception is wrong)
I get your enthusiasm toward "hits". Dart throw chances... I get it. But I feel Fanatics is the new Panini. A lot of color but not much value beyond the fun of ripping packs. I feel you'll not recapture the $60 from your pulls.... aside from channel content.

Pulled the Skenes Black Gold out of a blaster. Started collecting Black Gold's in the 90's. Still my favorite Topps card.

I pulled the holiday parallel of the Ohtani/Trout combo card in the only blaster that I’ve opened so far.

I like the blasters so far. They have a decent amount of parallels. I hit a Skenes vintage stock rookie debut in the 5th blaster I opened.
