    Current estimates for Deinosuchus hatcheri place it at around 13-14 meters long and having a weight of around 14 tonnes. Not only does this make the animal even more terrifying, but it also means it would've been the largest known carnivorous archosaurian EVER, outsizing the other main large archosaurs like Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus and Spinosaurus. Just so you know, the current estimates for Spino's size place it at around 8 tonnes, meaning Deino was close to double it's weight, as it weighed around 6 tonnes more.

      @doomboi789 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@Tyrannosaurus_rex. It's not oversized. Sure, it's based on fragmentary remains but these estimates on these remains have completely sound logic. If you compare the vertebrae of a D.Hatcheri specimen to that of a D.Riograndensis specimen, you will see a drastic difference in size. Using the size of these vertebrae and going off the proportions of D.Riograndensis, 13-14 meters is entirely possible for this animal.

    • @DreadEnder
      @DreadEnder ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually size wise the 4 dinosaurs you mentioned were larger, just not as heavy (unless we go with the largest estimates)
      But although it’s very unlikely the specimens of tyrannosaurus, giganotosaurus and spinosaurus were as large as they could get (especially since we only have a couple semi decent specimens of spinosaurus and giganotosaurus) but the thing about crocodilimorphs (/crocodyliforms) and sharks is that when in perfect health they could practically grow FOREVER!
      But they usually die from one cause to another as at the largest sizes they are almost never perfectly healthy

But I would love to see one of these guys in jurassic world chaos theory or jurassic world rebirth (wishing they went with a name more like domination). Yes. On terms of current size estimates for the largest crocs it goes like this.
      Sarcosuchus- 29.5-31.2 feet (9-9.5 meters) and about 2-4 tons
      Deinosuchus- 26-35 feet (8-10.5 meters) and between 3-7 tons, with some estimates placing them even larger (though unconfirmed)
      Purussaurus- 30-41 feet (9.2-12 meters) and between 5-9 tons.

      @prodigyshark1204 Haha.. Fadeno isn't even a scientist and his skeletal drawings on deviant art is based on speculations, exaggerations and outdated reconstructions. Hence, it is not even considered accurate. Anybody can make skeletal drawings and upload them on deviant and those drawings can't be considered as accurate reconstructions. Read the author's comment in this thread about the current size estimates for the largest crocs ever.

    • @RajRaja-wo3uu
      @RajRaja-wo3uu 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @prodigyshark1204 Tell that to Dinofax. Find out why the "more accurate" 15 mtrs and 15+ tons estimates made by Fadeno isn't features anywhere in scientific documents or any credible TH-cam videos. Also, deinosuchus was already extinct when the T-REX ruled and judging by your comments, I can tell that you don't have complete knowledge about what you're writing.
