Meet the Voters Who Will Decide the Election | WSJ State of the Stat

  • Going into the 2024 presidential election, nearly a third of voters aren't sold on President Biden or Donald Trump. So-called “persuadable" voters say they are undecided or might consider voting for a third-party candidate in November. Traditionally, a Democrat has to be up by four or five points in national polling to have the strength to win in the electoral college. So how will these voters impact the election?
WSJ breaks down what we know about the "persuadables," and why winning them over could be more essential to President Biden than Donald Trump.
    Chapters:
    0:00 “Persuadable voters”
    0:43 Voter breakdown
    2:29 Biden’s coalition
4:02 What this means for November
    State of the Stat
WSJ breaks down a key stat or data point to explain the current state of the political system - and why it matters.

A person may have different concerns when he/she move to different community. And ppl are likely to follow the mainstream based on their social scope. When you do popular votes in country with vast land and some highly centralized metro areas like US, you are eventually making metro population way more important than everyone else. Rather than “being fair”, It is more like creating more political campaigns in big metro areas and making elites living in metro areas more influential. Though you are only commenting on the system without siding. I assume you are reciting democrat’s cliche narrative about majority (or highly educated or younger ppl) cannot speak because of a wicked system. The thing is that Biden may lose popular vote too, according to current poll.

WW2 & COVID were global disasters - - and required large spending. Of course, it doesn't help that unlike what Truman and Congressional Republicans (who won their midterm in 1946) did in the late 40s and early 50s by balancing budgets and lessening the economic strain on the American people, Biden and the Congressional Democrats have effectively continued to increase the money supply and at an even heavier rate than COVID.
