Can confirm this method is easy and works great. Just got done with the first shoe after a trip to the hardware store. Super hyped on the matte look, can’t wait to finish the second shoe and lace them up.

As I see a lot of people asking this... I did this with a paintbrush with the same products listed and it still works really well you just have to be careful with the volume of the matte finisher you use and make sure it doesn’t become chalky

I just bought the jordan 1 craft mids in French blue and it has that patent blue toe box area. Now that I’m older I’m not really into the patent look. I want to try this and hopefully don’t screw it up.
I just did it to my pair, just careful to not rub too much with the acetone. It may still look glossy but a couple wipes is all you need. Wiped down too far with my pair but they still look so much better!

How have these customs held up? Do they crease like a normal Jordan 1 or does it crease wired like a patent leather 1?
I'd probably keep them high gloss for awhile but once it starts looking old, then I'd turn it all matte. ^^ the hydro dips are amazing!
Unpopular opinion, but I kinda like them the way they are. The matte finish is dope, but I'll be keeping mine shiny.

Haven't seen Sneakerhead's video but you could use deglazer to remove the shine. Maybe it's the same product. Dunno. Should have left a contrast hit, probably the Swoosh, kept that shiny.

Still not feeling the super wrinkled leather look even when matted out. I wonder if a steamer could smooth it out. Those dipped Forced are fire though!

I do customs and that matter finisher will hold up for a long time.

If prepared proper it would never come off. Thing you really need to do first is wipe them down with acetone until they're dull. The matte finisher works as a waterproof washable coating to protect the leather. You dont want to put but a very light coat on or it will make it look like a milky film is on it.
@@Potatoepewpewpew if you watch some restoration by Vick videos it will show you. He uses it at the end of all his paint jobs.

heard the matte finisher dont as strong as the ar brush matte finisher but this is a dope concept
this is so much cheaper than using angelus matte finisher. how long does this matte finisher last if you were to wear them?

I literally have them on my dresser next to a can of matte finish, just biding my time. I know you said you'd do it when this video hit 100K, but 81K is close enough, right?

If u dont soak them in matte finish and spray light even coats u wont need the heat gun or hair dryer. Did this to my bapestas back in 04

Yeah I think the whole point was for these to be shiny so I want them as they are intended. I’m cool with the shiny I got the og’s so I don’t need to ruin these
